Jade's POV
My meeting with Sky back in London went amazing, they were thoroughly impressed with how I was in Melbourne and the positive feedback I had received from both fans and the teams. I was now in a taxi on my way to see Lewis after a quick turnover flight. I do spend a lot of time with him which had led to rumours last year we were dating when I was seen more and more with him in the pitlanes and garage than usual. Of course we were both quick to shut them down, being more like a brother/sister duo, however it did take a few weeks for them to disappear.
I quickly pay my fare once we arrive and use my key to open the door.
"Lewis honey i'm home" I shout in a mocking tone.
"In the kitchen darling" He mocks back.
I shake my head and giggle as I pull off my trainers and hang up my coat. I walk through the sitting room and into the kitchen to see lewis picking at a salad.
"Eww rabbit food" I mumble and scrunch up my nose.
"You're not the one on a diet regime" He grumbles back, angrily stabbing the green leaves.
I can't help but snicker as I slide past him and open up the fridge, scanning its contents I decide on making a salami and cheese platter.
"Oh please in you come, help yourself" Lewis mutters, looking at me in mock anger.
"Don't mind if I do" I singsong back.
Our relationship has always been built on mutually mocking each other in a loving way Growing up on the track surrounded by racers had always made me pick up a slight crude sense of humour however that did mean that I had to be aware of how I spoke, but with Lewis, Kimi, Fernando and Sebastian I am able to be my sarcastic bitchy self without any fear.
Lewis nods his head in the direction of the sitting room and we both grab our meals before sitting in front of the TV which has an old race from 2013 playing on screen.
"How was your meeting?" He asks.
"Good, they seemed genuinely impressed with me. Apparently I had even had some praise from some drivers" I say pointedly, turning my head towards him.
"Hey it wasn't just me" He throws his hands up "Everyone seemed happy how nice you were, even Max who is famed for being a media hardass enjoyed the conversations he was having with you about car development"
"Well hopefully it stays that way" I say, "Sky originally wanted me to cover 16 races this season however if after Baku I'm still popular with the drivers and the fans then they want me to cover all 21"
"That's great J seriously, I mean have you read the comments you've received?" He asks. I shake my head and Lewis quickly grabs his phone to pull up my instagram.
"Right so we have one, 'Jade has made me really interested in the aerodynamics of the cars, I finally understand the difference a front wing can make in cornering and speed, the clarity she provides is unlike any of the other presenters'. Another one says 'Jade is so kind and nice with the drivers, she doesn't interfere if they're busy and is super respectful, hope sky keeps her on for many years to come'."
I look up at Lewis and smile softly, happy that people like the work I'm doing.
Lewis and I spend hours just talking about life, my grandpa and even how he feels about this year's car. Just as I'm about to say something my phone pings next to me.
Honey badger:- "Hey seen you were in Monaco, fancy meeting up for a few with me and Max?" I look up at Lewis in confusion
"How the fuck does Danny know I'm in Monaco?"
