Chapter 9
Sawyer's POV
I wake up the next day to the sound of my phone going off. I reach over to my desk, grabbing it and seeing the 4 different emails popping up. One of them is a scam email telling me I won a substantial sum of money from some scam website. I immediately deleted that one.
The second email was from a book company saying I was chosen to win a limited edition of one of my favorite book series. I open that one up and fill in my info to get it sent to me. That should be here in a few weeks.
The third email was from the photography teacher telling us to keep in communication with whoever our photography student was and if we had any questions or concerns to contact him.
The fourth email was from the police station saying that they couldn't find any fingerprints or any other evidence from the letter I gave them. It also says that they'll keep looking into it and that they're bringing in a specialist to help them look deeper into it. Sighing I put my phone on my bed and stretched my arms over my head and let out a deep groan. "Well, I guess I should get up and start my day." I say to the ceiling.
Getting up I drag my feet to the window and crack open the curtain slightly to peek out the window. Getting hit with a ray of sunshine I squint my eyes to peek outside. Seeing the amount of people outside I decide I don't want to go to class again today. Grabbing my laptop, I email all my professors telling them I won't be making it to class and that I'll do any make up assignments they want or need me to do. Looking longingly at my bed desperate to climb back into it but I can't, I can't spend my day curled up in bed wasting the day away. Instead, I grab my towel and head to the bathroom to take a long shower.
When I get out of the shower my phone is buzzing like crazy. Running to it I pick it up without looking at the caller id.
"Hello." I say putting my phone on speaker so I can get dressed while speaking.
"Hello, Sawyer," A deep voice says through the phone. "It's Riven, I'm sorry if I woke you up." I don't remember his voice being so deep from last night, but it could just be because it's so early in the morning.
"Oh no I just got out of the shower what's up?" Pulling a random shirt out of my dresser I pull it over my head.
"Good timing then. I have some free time today because my class got canceled and I was wondering if you would like to have lunch with me to discuss more of this project."
"Sure, I'm free around lunch time. I can meet you at the cafeteria for lunch."
"I was actually going to see if you wanted to go to the Italian restaurant, I ordered the pizza from last night from?"
"Are you sure, I'm really ok with eating at the cafeteria." As I say that my stomach growls.
"No, no only the best for my model. I will not have my model be hungry."
"Sure, let's. Want to meet by the main hall in like an hour?"
"Works for me, see you then."
------------------------
A little more than an hour later we walked into a little restaurant with about 7-10 tables around and rows and rows of pizzas behind a glass window. A friendly looking Italian guy stands behind the register helping an elderly couple. Speaking in perfect Italian to the couple he hands them a box and sends them away. With a wave he looks over our way and a huge smile spread across his face.
"Ah my favorite customer, what can I get for you?" He beacons us over to the window of pizza and sweeps his hand around to show us the pizza. "Please pick anything. It's on the house." He walks behind the back room and leaves us to it.
