A persistent knock on the bathroom door interrupted what I'm doing. "Hey, I need to pee. Get out now," Damon's voice demanded from the other side. His annoyance was evident, and I couldn't help but feel embarrassed by the situation.
It was clear that he was upset about our encounter in his room, and I couldn't blame him for being angry. However, his aggression had left me feeling vulnerable and shaken.
His comment about me pooping there made me feel even more self-conscious.
I blushed and once I felt composed enough, I unlocked the door and stepped out, finding Damon waiting outside, I hurried past him, trying to avoid eye contact. Our encounter in his room had left me shaken, and I wasn't sure how to handle the situation next time I see him.
As I walked back downstairs, a mix of embarrassment, anger, and confusion swirled within me. Damon's behavior was erratic and unsettling, why would he do that? Is it because I snooped on him, yeah, that's the reason, I'm stupid.
I discreetly checked my shoulder and was relieved to see that the mark was now covered. Satisfied that it wasn't visible, I decided to act as if nothing had happened upstairs. Fortunately, neither my auntie nor Mrs. Walker asked me any questions, allowing me to continue playing with Desmond without drawing attention to the unsettling encounter with Damon earlier.
That's what I thought, back at my auntie's house, she asked me about the bite mark on my shoulder. Nervous and unsure of what to say, I came up with a somewhat ridiculous excuse. "I bit myself," I stammered, feeling a bit foolish for uttering such an explanation. But at that moment, it was the only thing that came to mind to avoid revealing the truth, if I tell her the truth, she'll think that I'm pervert. I knew I would have to explain everything when the right time came, but for now, I decided to keep the unsettling encounter with Damon a secret.
As I lay in my bed, I couldn't help but think about that unsettling encounter with Damon. I absentmindedly touched the spot on my shoulder where he had bitten me. The memory of his aggression and the feeling of vulnerability lingered in my mind. It was clear that I couldn't face Damon comfortably after what had happened. The incident had left me shaken. With these troubling thoughts, I drifted into a restless sleep, unsure of what the future would hold at my new school in America.
As the days passed, Damon's absence became a noticeable pattern. I hadn't seen him for three consecutive days, and I couldn't deny that part of me was relieved not to have to face him after our unsettling encounter. The memory of that incident was starting to fade away in my mind, and I focused on my studies and getting to know my other classmates.
Tomorrow was the talent show, and I knew that Jenny and Vero were busy with the venue design. I offered to help them whenever I had some free time, wanting to be a part of the school's activities and make new friends. Despite the initial challenges and uncertainties of being a new student, it was comforting to know that there were people like Jenny and Vero who were willing to welcome me into their circle. The more I got to know them, the more I looked forward to our days at Maine Central School.
The day continued with classes, and I focused to the lessons, trying to absorb as much as I could. During lunchtime, after finishing my meal, I decided to head to the gymnasium to help with decorating the venue for the upcoming talent show. Tomorrow was Friday, and there would be no classes due to the talent show event. Many parents were expected to attend, including my auntie, even though I hadn't entered the talent show myself.
As I arrived at the gym, I noticed that Jenny and Vero were not there, but I did spot Drake and Damon. Their backs were turned to me, and I considered quietly slipping away to avoid encountering Damon. However, in my haste to leave, I didn't realize that there were chairs behind me. I accidentally bumping into them, creating a loud noise and causing some discomfort to my knees. It was an unfortunate situation, and it seemed like an awkward encounter was imminent with Damon and Drake.
