~ The following day ~
Cole gets after me for not stocking up on food in my pantry, and then mentions the panic room inside my home. I smile to myself.
"That room has more in there than this house does. Don't even get me started on your bedroom," he comments, and I laugh.
"Well I bought this place from a bachelor, what do you expect?" I ask.
"A mini bar and a pool table would be cool," Cole comments, and I laugh even more.
* Stephanie's POV *
I am going over clothes options again for this weekend when I decide to head out and drive around, to clear my head, when I remember I can't because I don't have much gas in my car. I pout.
The only friends I have are Rodrigo and Ricardo and Jo, along with two or three other girls from work, but that's about it.
When Jo and I moved here, I lived with her for a bit, and then after awhile it wasn't fun. I would have to listen to her hooking up with a random guy whom she had just met while we were out dancing, and then she'd want to call it an early night to head back home just to hook up with him, ruining it for me.
One day, I met my ex randomly at a local burger joint while out getting to know the area. While we hit it off great, he was sweet, funny, and kind, but I didn't realize how controlling he would be until after I broke things off with him, and thought about what I went through. He would belittle me, put me down, and, he wasn't the best in bed, but, I still loved him. Why I loved him, well, I tend to ask myself that to this day.
I bury the thought in the back of my mind and go on packing, feeling proud of myself for not being too indecisive, and decide to order Chinese food afterwards to reward myself.
I then hear a knock at my door, and I walk over to the door to open it up after I get off the phone, and it's Jo leaning up against the wall, with a glass of bubbly, and she is clearly tipsy. I ask her how she got here as I step aside and let her in.
She murmurs she got here safely as I shut the door behind her. I then hear her burp then giggle to herself. I then ask in a confused tone what the special occasion is.
"We're celebrating you, duh," she says, and I just simply say okay as I walk over to my couch and sit down onto it while she asks if I want to go out tonight, walking over towards me.
'Lovely,' I think to myself as she sits down onto the couch next to me, 'she's three sheets to the wind drunk. There is no way we will have fun tonight.'
"As if you need another hangover Jo," I find myself commenting, and her mouth, it's so funny, her mouth just drops open. I didn't realize until now that I was bottling things up inside of me.
Jo sits there stunned still, as if I've slapped her, and me being too shy, sweet, and kind to say anything about how I really feel, I end up walking over to my fridge and start looking around in it, because I honestly don't know what to say to her to smooth over the situation.
I hear her get up off the couch, and walk over to where I am. I close the fridge, and she says it's okay, that she accepts my apology. I stand there, wondering how she can act this way. I hate confrontation, so I ignore her and offer her some juice or water, even food, but she smirks and refuses, and doesn't even catch the hint.
As much as I like to drink, which isn't very often, I know my limit, and Jo, well, she doesn't.
* Tony's POV *
After Cole raids my fridge and cupboards, we go out to set up our folding metal chairs in my living room while he eats, and we discuss the upcoming house raid we are going to be in with that the feds need our help with.
