SHELLS TOWN, 12 YEARS AGO
ON THE SEASIDE, a short brunette little girl sat watching a pirate crew party over finding their latest treasure. The girl swayed along with the music that was playing while she sat in a chair near the bar where the captain came up to set his glass down, silently asking for a refill.
"Do you love your crew uncle Mihawk?" Her small voice rang out, causing the pirate to turn around to acknowledge her.
"My crew?" The older man repeated the question, resting his elbows on the bar as he glanced over at all the pirates laughing around the table and bragging about their success. "They're alright." He shrugged with the slightest smile on his face.
"You all seem so close, you always have each others backs." The girl's blue eyes stared at the pirates. "One day, I want to have friends or a crew as close as you are, we'd be like a family." She sighed the last part out, taking a look at her pocket watch which only confirmed the same thing that the setting sun was telling her, it was getting late and none of her family had come looking for her.
"And what is your father going to think when you become a pirate and run off with those friends slash family?" Mihawk questioned while he grabbed his glass that was now refilled with more alcohol.
"That would require him to even think about me first." She frowned, resting her hand on her cheek. "He's always out looking for more business or going on trips with mother, I feel like he doesn't even really care about family."
The captain raised an eyebrow as he took a sip from his drink. "Well I'm his brother therefore family, he seems to care about me."
"He cares about the fact that you keep him in business." The brunette rolled her eyes gesturing to the alcohol in his cup.
"Excuse me, why does a 6 year old have such a smart mouth?"
"I'm 7, Uncle Mihawk it's my birthday." The girl seemed to slouch a little more at the statement, looking off at the sunset again.
The pirate glanced over at the setting sun as well signaling the day was nearly over. "Well that can't be right little one, why would you spend your entire birthday sitting around here?" He questioned.
"I don't know, it's nice here. I like to look at the sea and watch you guys talk and laugh, and at least I get acknowledged here. Father just buys me gifts and gives me money as a substitute for his time, last week he forgot my name and called me Angela." The girl opened up, looking back over at her uncle.
"Well it's not too far off from Adriana, he had a couple letters correct." Mihawk shrugged, though he did feel a little sorry for her.
"How does one forget their own daughters name?! People in town I've only seen a few times notice me more than him." Adriana crossed her arms as she leaned back in her chair.
"Well, if you're known in town it will be easier for you to make some friends, so you don't have to hang around these drunks." The captain tilted his head to motion towards his crew who had now gotten the cards out for a game of poker. "Maybe you'll have that crew you mentioned sooner than you think, just don't think you rival me."
The girl laughed a little at the last part before nodding. "Thank you." She smiled throwing herself at her uncle for a hug.
"Uh..Okay." Mihawk mumbled, using his one arm that wasn't holding his drink to pat her back before standing up. "Happy birthday little one." He clinked his huge glass with her small cup of water that was sitting on the table before walking off to join his crew in their card game.
The girl sat back in her chair, watching the pirates guffaw and slam their cards down onto the table, a loud enthusiastic conversation stirring up between a few of them. A big smile grew on her face before she took one last look at the sun, almost completely beneath the waves now, and decided it was time to head back home.

This might be kinda OOC idk how to write villains being softish LOL but I tried my best! Hope you guys are liking it so far i'm hoping to get chapter one out within a week at most (maybe)
