After twenty minutes or so knocks snapped König out of his thoughts. Before he could answer to them the door opened, "are you decent?" Y/n asked before looking in. She was asking if his mask was down.
"Yes." He said, she stepped in. Closing the door, "Is everything alright?" She asked him as she sat her her desk. "Yes." He repeated. "And your arm?" He looked down to his stitched arm. "Don't even feel it."
"Then why did you come in?" She asked, leaning on her desk and resting her head in her hands. He was quiet for a moment, "I- just thought I could." He said, standing. "No," She reached over her desk and grabbed his hand. "Don't leave, I'm just wondering."
She let go of his hand, "I want to make sure no one messes with you." He said, she nodded. "Well, alright then." She said, she grabbed a piece of paper off the desk, revealing a notepad. The note pad was a full page written by Y/n.
She didn't noticed that König was reading it. It was a story. About a man before war times that was losing his sanity. "You're a writer?" König said, "Hm?" She looked up and saw what he was reading. Her face flushed with red as realized what he was reading. "No," She said, grabbing it off the desk and throwing it in a random drawer.
"No, I'm not. I'm a doctor." She said, avoiding eye contact. "Why? Why are you a doctor and not a writer?" König asked, sitting on the edge of his seat. "Writers are no use to people." She sighed, "What my father told me." Only now did König see the extra set of dog tags around her neck.
One had her name one it. But the other said, Henry L/n. "Your father?" She nodded to his question, "He wanted me to be a doctor, so- I'm a doctor." She said, sighing.
"That- What? That was a really good story." König said, she looked him in the eyes. Her brows furrowed upwards. "Really?" She asked, pushing her chest against the desk so her head was lower. He nodded his head, "Yes, yes. It was." He said, she pulled away, leaning in her chair.
"Thank you, König." She said, a small smile hiding as she looked down into her lap. "Do you mind if I read the rest of it?" He asked, she looked up. "You want to?" Her brows were furrowed again. "Yes, I would love to." She looked him up and down with a grin.
"Yeah, of course." She pulled it out of the drawer and handed it to him. "I have to check on my patients, but please, please stay if you are okay with that." She said, standing up and walking to the door. "Of course." He said, leaning back in his chair as he read the notepad.
It wasn't long before she walked back in. "Whatca think?" She asked König as she sat in her seat. "This is amazing. You are an amazing writer." He looked up and locked eyes with her. She was beautiful.
She was smiling big, it made his lips slowly curl into a smile. "What about your mother?" He mumbled, "My mother." Y/n leaned back in her chair, she smiled as she thought for a moment. König observed her thinking, slowly her smile started to fall. Now she had no smile, "she was great." She mumbled, "I didn't mean to intrude." König said, "No," she looked at him, "She was really great. She wanted me to be a writer." Y/n shook her head.
Suddenly they both heard growing from the other room. Y/n shot up, immediately she was out the door. When König opened the door he saw Y/n and two men in scrubs surrounded a man's bed. Y/n was trying to shock his heart back into rhythm.
König didn't want to get in the way so he closed to door and stayed in the office.
