As I'm brushing my teeth my phone vibrates in my bra and scared the living shit out of me, I take my phone out of my bra and I open it, seeing that I got a Snapchat from Zacky Vengeance really made my morning.
I question myself, "Why is he up this early?" I roll my eyes and I open the snapchat, a black screen, reading, "Good luck on your last day of school, Angel.♥"
Angel, clever, come on, that's my name.
I take a picture of me brushing my teeth in the mirror, ugliest face ever, but its only Zacky, no worries. I reply, "I hope to see you soon..."
I grab my bag and I go downstairs, "Morning, daddy." I smile slightly.
"Morning, Angel." He smiles at me and hands me a bowl of ceral. "Eat up, you have exams today." He smiles. I nod and I put the bowl on the table and then I sit down, obviously start eating.
My phone goes off again and I check it, Zacky. I open his snapchat, and this time its a picture of Matt trying to play guitar on the tour bus, nice.
I giggle a little and I take a picture of my cereal and I say back to him, "What's the surprise?"
"Who are you texting so early in the morning?" My dad asks.
"My friend from school."
"But you're going to see your friend in a couple of minutes."
"He moved."
"Oh... Hm. Well, are you ready? Its 7:50."
"Holy crap! Yeah, I am." I say finishing the bowl of cereal putting it in the dishwasher. I grab my bag and I run out to the car and I sit in the passenger seat waiting for my dad to get in the car.
"You woke up a bit late, yeah?" My dad questions me getting into the driver seat of the car, starting it.
"No, I took a shower. Longer than I expected."
"But you took one last night?"
"Yeah, but I didn't rinse out the conditioner all the way."
"Why?"
"Because I was tired from soccer practice."
"Oh. And hey, you're lucky we live near the school, kiddo." My dad laughs as he pulls up to the main entrance.
"Thanks dad." I smile and I quickly get out of the car running into the school. The minute bell goes off and I rush into my health class and I sit down at my desk in the back of the classroom, desks lined up in rows. Two seconds later, the bell rings.
"Alright, class," Mrs. Zemper turns around and smiles, "I'm sorry to break it to you but..... We don't have exams!" She shouts, everyone screams in excitement but I do not. "Quiet down, quiet down. Be respectful to other classroom exams." She smiles again. "Do whatever." She turns back around and starts cleaning her chalkboard.
I put my head down because I"m in the back of the class, like I said before. I have no real friends anymore because ever since Maddie shot herself, everyone that used to hang out with her and I left me behind in the dust.
Maddie Zertello, a Filipino, but most of all, my best friend. The only one I really had, she was there for me for everything, there when I found out that my mom had died in a car crash with my older brother and my baby sister. I'd tell her everything.
Everyone kept bullying her last year and she kept telling adults, I even tried doing something about it but it never worked, so, she shot herself.
I blamed myself for the longest time but, now, for some reason, I don't.
