I was holding her in my arms. My clothes and arms were turning redder as seconds ticked by. I yelled brokenly for Wendy to save her while sobbing my heart out.
Luce. My princess. My mate. My everything. She was lying lifeless in my arms.
She got stabbed by a poison dagger meant for me. Before running off muttering apologies in a sea of tears, Wendy had blurted out that, that poison had an unusual side effect. It cannot be cured if a MATE of a dragon slayer was the one being poisoned by it.
I swore so many times that I would protect her. But. I am the one who caused her death. I killed my mate.
We had just gotten together a few months ago. 3 months 2 days 5 hours 34 minutes to be exact. I can still remember clearly how we got together....
-Flashback-
"Hey Luce! Wanna go on a job together? It pays 200j! Enough to pay 2 months of your rent!" I shouted excitedly to her the " moment she entered the guild. "Sure! Let me grab my stuff! Meet you at the station at 1!" She replied before turning back towards the guild doors to prepare. Yosh! I got her to agree! Now, time to get things done!
By then, I had already known she was my mate. This mission was kinda like a cover up for my confession. I was taking her to a beautiful grass field in a town an hour away that I happen to find while on a mission with Happy several months back.
When we arrived, I was still dizzy due to my motion sickness, which is worser than normal today as my stomach was churning with nerves on asking Luce out. Luce looked at me worriedly. "Natsu, are you alright, do you want to rest abit more?" "It's okay Luce, just give me a few seconds." I managed to say.
After I was back to 100%, I dragged Luce towards the field. When we were near, I covered her eyes despite her protests and told her to trust me. She stopped struggling and allowed me to lead her.
"Surrrrrprise!!" I yelled childishly as i uncovered her eyes. Her eyes grew in amazement and she broke into one of her heartwarming smiles. "OH MY GOSH! Natsu this is so pretty!!! How did you find this place!!" I smiled my toothy grin. Her smile is so beautiful. She is so beautiful. We ran around looking at all the kinds of flowers. I almost set the place on fire due to my excitement. Ops. hehe.
When the sun began to set, Luce suddenly exclaimed "Oh no! The mission! We forgot about it!". I decided to make my move then and then. I placed my right hand on her left cheek and kissed her, right in the lips. At first, she stood still, probably in shock, but soon she began to move her lips in sync with mine.
"I love you Luce, would you go out with me?" I asked when we parted for air. "You dense dragon, I love you too~" Our lips coillided again~
-flashback over-
She is my smile, my laugh, my reason for living. Without her, my world seems to have stopped and I have no reason to live.
"Please Luce...please don-don't leave me...I haven't got a chance to ask you to be my ma-mate..." I begged her. But she is gone. Her eyes are lifeless and will never be bursting of life like they once were ever again. I will never see her beautiful smile again. I will never get to kiss her and have her kiss me back with passion ever again.
I have lost my other half...my soulmate...forever...and it's all my fault...

Hihi! How are y'all? It's holidays for me! Happy holidays to those on holiday too! I just got inspiration to write this out of nowhere. (It's 5.30am now haha) I'm sorry if it makes you cry/or is very pessimistic :s.
