After checking up on her daughter Pam made her way downstairs. Despite still being in bed wear she saw no need to place her heavy artillery away in storage. It was her home after all. She slung the massive tool over her shoulder and pulled out a cell phone as she crept down the dark steps. The light from her device was the only illumination save for a bit of natural moonlight and the ambiance of the floodlights just outside their front door. There were unread messages from Goldarm Belle as well as a missed call from the cameraman Buster. Certainly, items were waiting to be repaired by her in the drop box tomorrow morning.

Though her sight was hampered by the lack of light the savory smell of sweet chicken and rice permeated the walls and guided her nostrils. When she landed on the carpet again she peered through the kitchen's connection. Just through the doorless opening was Nani's meal waiting to be eaten. If only it wasn't nearly midnight. Another glitch in her programming ruined her perception of timing. It was probably the same bug that made her think it was daytime even though it was her night vision that allowed her to see in this murky expanse. She'll have to fix that later.

Her focus wasn't truly on Nani's food or bugs. Instead, she searched around the kitchen and living room for the short, stout nanny. Maybe she would find Peep floating somewhere nearby. The lack of Nani's presence could only be explained by a lack of dirty clothes baskets around the house.

With that mystery solved Pam pulled out another device from her pocket. This time it was some sort of transceiver. It had a bright blue antenna and a sliding knob that could affect the frequency. Alongside that was a set of letters and numbers in an oblong order. It wasn't a keyboard and it wasn't alphabetical. However, Pam seemed to understand it just fine.

Pam slid the knob left and right as a bit of radio static slowly died out. When it went silent, she typed something in with a frustrated rush. She placed it back in her pocket and took a seat on the living room couch. She took off the shower cap and let her hair run down past her shoulders. Her massive mane was left untamed and ratty after her rushed bath was rudely interrupted.

When she closed her eyes again she laid back trying to deal with the headache she unwittingly gave herself. It had been such a wild three weeks. So much had happened. Finally, it was starting to clear up. Maybe she could take a nap. She wandered off into her dreams. Prancing through the fields of illusion that everything was alright. A world where nothing had gone wrong.

Despite her neck craneing up to the sky she remained unaware of the sudden black spot that was growing rapidly. It expanded until it was nearly the size of the upper floor itself. Then suddenly Leon came falling down from above. He hit the carpet face-first and collapsed to a heap with a pained grunt. Gray jumped down next and landed with all the grace of a gentleman entering a party on Christmas Day.

Leon quickly made it to his feet and turned on Gray, "I hate that." The boy quickly reached into his blue hoodie pocket. His fingers clasped onto a set of blades as he prepared an enraged outburst.

"Clear!"

Pam's voice rang out just loud enough for the boys to hear. Leon froze solid as he noticed where Gray had taken them. He quickly turned on his heels but didn't move from his spot. Pam's position on her couch made her look like a disgruntled boss as she stared at them. She turned to Gray and said, "Enigma. Lights."

Gray bowed his head and moved for the switch. He flicked it up with his cane and let the light bathe over them. Pam's eyes took in the state of these males. Gray was the first to enter her field of view. His clothes were the same dapper greyscale garbs that he'd made famous. His cane which looked so sophisticated before had been replaced with a cast iron metal pipe. It had a medallion on the top that looked like a turnip frowning at the joy of others.
