SHIN'YA WITHHELD FROM HIDING HIS face in his hands in exasperation, even if doing so would allow him to escape the current situation he found himself in. With nothing else to do, he looked at his two brothers tag teaming to run ragged an older boy that was interning at the quirk specialist's office. His brothers' so-called tag teaming consisted of teleporting from one place to another while the poor intern was desperately trying to catch them in place with his quirk 一'Bind', or something like that一 all the while shooting Shin'ya pleading looks for help. (Help with what? This was his break from the two menaces. Let other people suffer them.)

Just thinking about how his baby brothers' quirk manifested was enough to give him headaches for days. Therefore, this situation was mild in comparison.

It was about a day or two from when they got discharged from the hospital, deemed healed enough to return home. So Shin'ya signed the papers and took the two boys back to his small apartment. That's when things started to become一 weird. Both Satoru and Kakashi started popping up in places where four year olds had no place to be in, such as on top of the fridge or in the bathtub when he could swear he'd last seen them on the couch. That was the first flag. Then there was the way he started noticing the twins' eyes change colors for a split second. Satoru's he could excuse, blaming the brilliant way in which his blue eyes shined on a trick of the light, but Kakashi's flashes of red were telling.

The final nail in the proverbial coffin happened at the park, when the two boys were playing with other children and Shin'ya was supervising from a safe distance. Surrounded by mothers that were more than happy to chat off his ears, he almost missed it. The 'it' in question being a baseball that had flown from the nearby field passing right through Kakashi's chest and stopping a few centimeters away from Satoru's face, in midair, before it fell to the ground between the twins.

Had he not been actively working within the hero system and not had the experience that he did, he might have missed it. But he didn't miss it. And so for a few moments he stood there, staring slack jawed at his brothers to the point where the mothers around him started to fret over him. Embarrassing, but he couldn't really pay them any mind when all of the bullshit that had been going on in his house in the past few days suddenly started making sense.

So he excused himself from the middle-aged women fretting over him, gathered his baby brothers with a few words and a Look™ when they tried protesting, and headed back home. The first thing he does upon entering the apartment is sit the two children on the couch, followed by saying, "Alright you two, no more games. Fess up." The little headaches didn't even have the decency to look admonished at being caught red-handed.

They just grinned and chorused at him, "Surprise! We have our quirks!" He might have scolded them for their cheekiness had his breath not been caught in his throat at the sight of his brothers' eyes changing color. The blue in Satoru's eyes turning seemingly into fragments of a shattered sky, while Kakashi's bled into a red so deep with intricate black patterns constantly swirling around his iris. So this is what he had seen at that time, is what he thinks in that moment.
