"Inside I'm hollowed out,  Outside's a paper shroud, And all the rest's illusion, That there's a will and soul, That we can wrest control, From chaos and confusion"

..............................................

Kadre unties my hands and as soon as they let go of the cuffs, they drop down, relief takes over my muscles but nevertheless still confused as to why she would do that? Does she have a death wish?

"Now now, think twice before attacking. I'm serious" she warns, her voice sounding almost scared but she hid it well. Pathetic fool.

I get reminded of the threat. Every time I think of doing something stupid, I force myself to remember. Veronika's life is in my hands. If I disobey, she dies.

The anger is still present. The memory still plays, the last time I kissed her. The only thing that calms me down is Carlo is with her and I already have a plan to escape this hell hole.

"I'm shifting you to one of the rooms in this house. You better stay put. If you show signs of escaping this building-"

"I dare you to continue" I growl but internally I know exactly what she would say if I had let her.

Kadre opens her mouth to say something but is interrupted by a man. He walks into the room with his head bowed.

"What did I say about interrupting me?" Kadre's voice high pitched. God she sounds like a fucking banshee.

"Sorry ma'am but this was important" he mutters. I want to tell that man to kill himself rather than be in the presence of this woman while he still has the chance to.

"Important, how so?"

"Mr. Ajeti had called a few minutes ago saying that you need to attend a function." He says

Sending the annoyance In his boss's expression, he cuts her off before she says anything so he could explain further. Good boy.

"It's important for you to attend, Mr. Ajeti said. If you don't go, it will raise suspicion in San Marino and we can't afford to have that. All the people involved in the underground will be there. He also had said that Mr. King's presence is necessary otherwise-"

I smirk internally and go over and make changes in my plan. I'm not lasting long in here. I knew this was coming. I know I've got the upper hand.

"When" she cut him off, sounding mad. I rolled my eyes.

"In one week" he answers in fear.

"Fuck" she shouts. If this bitch doesn't shut up-

"Out, now" she orders the man to do so. This is my lucky day. I've got what I'd been waiting for. The sooner I kill her and escape, the faster I get to my father and our men, the better.
