A/N:

This is part 2 of my series, if you haven't read "Stay With Me" then read that before this! Also, this chapter will include serious gore, anxiety attacks (not that serious though), and flashbacks of torture. Read at your own risk!!!

START:

Batman stood in the Batcave, overlooking the footage of last night. Scarecrow had been caught and put in captivity. But Batman and Commissioner Gordon had both decided against putting the man inside Arkham Asylum until Dr. Hugo Strange, the head doctor of the asylum, was fired and moved far away from Gotham. Batman glared at the screen as it replayed him fighting Scarecrow...

"Scarecrow!" he yelled.

Scarecrow turned around and glared at Batman, not hesitating to let out his fear gas into Batman's face.

Batman had taken the antidote for the gad earlier that day, so it didn't affect him. Batman quickly swung his cape in front of him to clear the gas. He spotted Scarecrow shoving more chemicals into his duffel bag, and then started running. Batman quickly chased after him. It took only a few more seconds for Batman to have Scarecrow on the ground, and handcuffs on.

Scarecrow squirmed. "You can't just take me back to Arkham!" he yelled, looking pissed.

Batman was also able to pick a trace of fear inside Scarecrow's eyes in the recording.

Batman grabbed the back of Scarecrow's suit and pulled him up. "I'm not going to. You're staying in the police station with 24 hours surveillance from Commissioner Gordon and the other police officers." Scarecrow let out a relieved sigh and let Batman drag him out of the lab.

Batman replayed the scene again, confused on why Scarecrow didn't fight back that much, in fact, he didn't seem to care that his plans were ruined. It concerned the dark knight. Maybe the plans were already being followed, and he just went to pick up a few extra things? He thought.

Batman stood up slowly, knowing if he stood up too fast he'd fall. He slowly made his way over to a duffel bag on the table not far from his computers. Batman pulled out the chemicals Scarecrow had taken and set them on the table. Only 5 bottles of unknown liquids were in the bag. "I'll have to take these to Lucius and see what these are and what they could be used for." Batman thought aloud.

But then he remembered. Oh yeah, I'll have to speak to Clark about going to Gotham and visiting Arkham. Bruce frowned and paced around. How am I going to get his attention though... Maybe I could visit him in his work office as Bruce. He thought.

Tomorrow I will, tonight I have to do more research. Batman rethought his conversation with Commissioner Gordon, and how he explained how awful it was at Arkham. Commissioner Gordon said he had gone to Arkahm to see for himself, and when he got there, he caught Dr. Hugo Strange was in the middle of a treatment with Poison Ivy, which included electrotherapy. After that, he said he had asked for a few criminals, and a few innocent people in Arkham. He had checked all their backs, and told Batman how awful all the burns were along their spines. James Gordon even explained how Dr. Hugo Strange was very protective about him seeing Joker. When Gordon saw Joker, though, he explained it by saying, "he looked awful on the outside as he was on the inside. It was horrible to see someone in so much... pain," Batman was a little surprised to see how much Gordon really did care about the Joker. He knew Gordon still hated everything about Joker, but he seemed to be showing signs of pity on the clown. Both of them agreed they needed to get Dr. Hugo fired. Commissioner Gordon said he'd go and try to speak with the mayor about what was going on in Arkham, and try to get her to fire him. Batman had of course agreed with the idea.
