Wilson got home the next evening and hugged her tight. Almost like he was making up for the lost couple days without Savannah. With hungry kisses on her neck she remembered what this was all for. The ring felt heavy on her finger as he clung onto her body, kissing her more passionately than usual. And she kissed him back, feeling at ease in his embrace. The weekend with Flint crossed her mind and she forced his laugh, his smile... out of her mind.
"I missed you. I'm gonna do better, be here with you more. I promise." Wilson breathed on her ruby lips. "You deserve for me to be around more."
"Okay," She nodded and started kissing him again. Running her ands on his chest and along his back, his warm skin familiar under her hands. Leading her to the couch he leaned over her body, tenderly brushing hair from her face before he kissed her again.
"I love you, Savannah." He said softly in her ear as he settled over her.
"I love you too, Wilson." She spoke his name and for a moment she couldn't tell who it felt she was cheating on.
They lay on the couch in each others arms, and Wilson fell asleep. Working a couple twelve hour days always gets him. Savannah snuck out from beside him and slipped her robe back on. The outside air was extremely refreshing and she took it all in. the way the boards felt under her bare feet, the way the warm evening sun embraced her fingers, felt the breeze tugging at the robe that lay around her.
The quiet was soon filled with Flint's laugh in her memory and she so desperately wanted it to be real. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and pulled up Flint's contact. She ignored messages from her friends about how they were seen at the bar together, Wilson no doubt knew and didn't care. His trust in her was overwhelming sometimes. She pulled up Flints contact and his small Icon photo with a goofy smile made her chuckle.
"I hope your tour is going alright on the first night. Wilson is home and would love for you to be back around in two weeks for wedding help. Let me know!" She hit send and stuffed her phone away.
"Hmm. That was so good. I missed you." Wilson came up behind her and kissed her neck. "Wanna go for a swim? We can leave the bathing suits behind."
"Sure honey, lets do it." Savannah watched Wilson get into the truck, his tidy short brunette hair perfectly styled. He has dark eyes that are prominently featured, plump ruby lips and angled cheekbones. He is gorgeous, he is so crushable and kind she pinches herself at the fact that she's with him. The struggle of getting over Flint still rings in her ear even though she feels this way about Wilson.
They climbed down to the dock and Wilson pulled her against him. He never usually touches her this much, sure he touches her legs when they sit down together, kiss her on the cheek when she comes around and goodbye, but not like this. Wilson found the hemline of her shirt and tugged it up and over her head to reveal her white lace bra. Once he was finished she pulled his shirt over his head, rustling up his hair a bit.
He pulled her shorts down and lovingly lifted each foot to keep her balance as he got them off, causing Savannah to giggle a little. Then she was shocked to feel his lips on her thigh, his hands grabbed onto her legs firmly as he traced kissed from her thigh all the way along her hip, stomach and up to her collarbone.
"I want you right here," he breathed, pushing his shorts down. She was pushing memories of Flint out of her mind, pushing his wet hair falling in front of his face out of her mind, his smile as she would be watching him from the dock. The way his wet and warm skin felt underwater. As Wilson's hands roamed her skin she felt uncomfortable for a moment, felt like she wasn't doing what she should be. With another try she focused on Wilson as he looked at her, a sexy smirk on his lips. "Will you have me?"
"Yes, come here." She kissed him hard and they laid on the warm dock as he adjusted himself on top of her.
"God, I'm so lucky to have you." He tugged her hair a little and Flints kiss in the kitchen crossed her mind. She felt lightening shock through her skin and down to her toes. Wilson kissed her neck and bit lightly on it, causing her to moan. When she felt how hard he was against her opening she pushed on his boxers quick and furiously.
"I want you now." She breathed before giving him a kiss. She stared into Wilson's eyes, 'this is who you love, he loves you, this is who will be with you.' She told herself as she made love to him.
After sunset they stumbled into the house, sun drained and tired. Sleepily Savannah turned the shower on and hopped in as Wilson cleaned up some of the dishes.
"Showers ready for you." Savannah called down from the stairs.
"Thanks babe." Wilson yelled back. Her eye caught the slight opening of Flints door where he stayed, curiosity overwhelmed her and in her towel she crept into the room. She looked around to see everything tidy and neat, he even left an outfit on the bed and pair of cowboy boots on the floor. Going to the vanity she could smell a lingering of his cologne in the air and she took a long deep breath.
Checking the small drawers she found nothing, then she went to the clean bed and lifted the pillows. To her surprise was a few pieces of paper. Listening for Wilson she tucked them back under the pillow and quickly hurried back to their room where he followed behind, humming happily.
"Coming to bed right away?" She asked as she slipped off the towel, putting on a big tee and new panties.
"Yeah babe, tuck yourself in I wont be long." He smiled sweetly at her and then shut the bathroom door. She heard the shower turn on and she rushed back to the pillow in Flint's room. Her heart was racing and she anxiously opened the folded paper.
Scribbled... lyrics? Roamed the page and soft doodles of cows and picket fences lined them. "She is the only one for me and I've lost my chance." "Everything about her makes my heart heavy, and I know now it's because I love her." "If only she could see how I am without her, I can't be the same me I want to be if she isn't with me." "Savannah... oh Savannah." Her eyes widened and she pressed the papers to her chest. Tucking them away to read more another time she sulked under the covers.
Wilson slipped in beside her and with the lights out her mind replayed the words over and over.
"I'll fly you both out to come see my show if you want, next Friday night? Then we'll fly back to Arbisten together when the shows over. How does that sound? Let me know and I'll get your flight sorted." Flint texted back the next morning and Savannah stared at the message. Wilson was in town doing some errands, and Savannah found herself with the papers Flint left.
Listening to the door open she hurried downstairs with the news.
"Hey babe," Savannah took a couple groceries from his hands and they unpacked them. "So Flint asked if we would like to fly to his show next Friday night?"
"Next Friday... Shoot, I'll be in Dallas at that trade show from Thursday to Wednesday. I'll completely miss it. Why don't you go, take a friend or just head out yourself. I'm sure it'll be a blast."
"Okay babe, that's nice of you." She kissed him on the cheek and he watched her as she waltzed back upstairs with a skip in her step.
He knew she was still in love with Flint, and he's doing his best to trust and adore their friendship. The endless nights where she cried over him, or couldn't get out of bed when he parents died, the nightmares where she screamed out flints name... Wilson mended those. Wilson held her through it... and now Flint was back, back to steal her away just as she was happy with Wilson, excited to be married and couldn't wait to walk down the aisle to him. He could hear her humming upstairs and his heart hurt. How far could his trust go?
