I can't believe that the night's here. Tonight I will be singing at the Bluebird Café in Nashville.

"You got this, Y/N."

"Thanks, Larry." Larry gives me a quick hug before addressing the crowd.

"Good evening ladies and gentleman. Tonight you're in for a treat. This young lady will make sure this night will be a night you won't forget. Please put your hands together for Y/N!"

"Showtime." I breathed in and let it out. The crowd claps and I sit down on the stool.

"How is everyone doing tonight? Like Larry said, I'm Y/N. This song that I'm about to play is one of my favourites that I've written. If you're here tonight and you feel like you're not good enough, this one is for you."

I start playing my guitar and sing. The whole time I keep staring at this one guy. He looks very familiar like I've seen him from somewhere before. I finish the song and the crowd claps. I get up and go to my car to put my guitar away. I come back in to get a drink when I see that man again.

"Y/N, you've got an amazing voice and I love your song. That almost made me cry, but in a happy way."

"Thank you. It wasn't my intention to make anyone cry haha."

"Anyways, what can I get you to drink?"

"May I have a Pepsi please?"

"Of course. Let me go to the back to get it."

The bartender leaves. I look to my left and the man startles me.

"Oh my! Are you okay?"

"Yeah. You just scared me a bit. I didn't see you sit down."

The bartender returns with my drink. "Here you go Y/N. Dustin, the usual?"

"Yes ma'am."

Dustin? That's why he looks familiar. He's Dustin Lynch!

"Dustin?" I said nervously.

"Yep." The bartender gives him his drink. "Thank you."

I'm so mind blown that I don't know what to say.

"Y/N, are you alright?"

"Um, yeah. I just didn't expect to see you here."

"I come here often when I'm not touring or making music. As for you, you have a great voice and I like that song that you sang."

"Thank you. I wrote that song a while ago." I finish my drink and start to pull out money to pay.

"Hey. I will be paying for your drink."

"What?"

The bartender comes back and Dustin hands her money.

"This is for mine and her's drinks. Don't worry about change. You keep it."

"Wow. Thank you for this. You don't know how much this means to me. Well you two have a great night."

I put my money back in my purse and give Dustin a look.

"You know, you didn't have to do that."

"I wanted to do that. You made my night singing wonderfully and this is me returning the favour."

I blush. I've never heard anyone say that before. Dustin rummages through his pocket and pulls out a pen and paper. He then writes on the paper and gives it to me. I look and it's his number.

"Are you serious? What am I supposed to do with this?"

"Call me. I like your style and maybe we can write songs and perform together in the future."

I grabbed a sticky note and wrote my number and gave it to him.

"Yeah. Maybe we will." I looked up at the clock.

"Well, I have to get going. I'll see you soon I guess."

"I have to get going as well. I'll see you soon Y/N."

We both left the café and head to our vehicles. We turn around and looked at each other and head off in different directions.

"I can't believe I performed in front of Dustin Lynch and got his number. This is a night I won't forget," I chuckled to myself.
