As the ship set sail Vex wrote to his late wife who passed during the birth of their son Wayland. He writes to her everyday though no matter what happens each day. After he finishes writing them he reads them aloud for her spirit to hopefully hear his cries and mourning. For Vex used to be the best Captain in the universe until Peggy passed. After that his mood had changed and he became a new person . The only person besides Peggy who still knows the old him and still hears that person is his son, Wayland. He doesn't act different around him or whenever Vex tries to speak aloud to Peggy hoping she hears him he doesn't hid himself and his pain. He shows it to only those two and his best friend who happens to be Co-Captain Cronan Lombard and his son, Wayland's best friend, Riker Lombard.
