Lloyd's Scars

This is set between season 9 and 10.

Lloyd was sat on his bed, the top half of his gi laying somewhere on the ground while his body was littered in wounds and scars.

Mystake's tea hadn't been able to do more than make sure he didn't die and fix his broken bones.

During the time of hiding from the SOG, he had severe breathing and back problems, sometimes he felt so lightheaded he thought he would faint.

He still had other wounds and cuts that kept opening during that time, even now they still did.

Lloyd wrapped new bandages around his upper arm, closing his eyes and groaning at the pain that was going through his body.

He hadn't even heard his door open until he heard footsteps nearing, he turned around and was surprised to find Zane looking at him with a worried look.

The rest of the ninja were in the doorframe, they all looked shocked at his state, everyone except for Nya and Kai.

They always told him to bandage himself up or let them do it, he always said he would do it but he rarely did.

"Lloyd.." Zane started, Lloyd looked down, tears forming in his eyes, he made his family worry, again.

He didn't let the tears flow until Zane hugged him, he laid his head on the Nindroids shoulder, finally letting his tears flow.

"I'm sorry.." he mumbled, the rest of the team came forward and the Smith siblings were the first to join the hug, Jay and Cole followed next.

"let's get your wounds treated first, and then we'll talk about it." Zane decided, Lloyd nodded and pulled away, Nya gently brushed away his tears.

Kai and Cole went to get the emergency kit and a glass of water for Lloyd.

Zane grabbed the kit from Kai and opened it, he turned to the blonde "I will have to disinfect them, some of them are infected." the Ice Ninja told him, Lloyd nodded and grasped Nya's hand tightly.

Zane put some disinfectant alcohol on a cotton pad and as gently as he could, he cleaned his wounds.

Lloyd bit his lip, the pain worsening. Nya held his hand tightly, unbothered by his strong grip.

Lloyd sighed relieved of the pain when Zane had finished, Nya and Zane started bandaging him up.

His arms were covered in bandages, so was his entire stomach and middle, so were his thighs and part of his neck.

He had too many wounds and cuts to count, he barely felt any of them anymore, he was used to the pain.

Jay and Kai helped him into a warm green hoodie and a pair of clean sweatpants, they moved to the living room.

"Lloyd, why didn't you tell us?" Cole asked, he was worried about his little brother's health.

Lloyd felt fresh tears pricking in his eyes "I didn't want to worry you guys.." he mumbled, Nya comfortingly rubbed his back.

"we will always worry about you," Kai told him, crouching down in front of the couch and looked Lloyd straight into his eyes "we are your guardians, we are meant to protect you but how can we do that if you don't tell us that your hurting?"

Lloyd felt tears start to roll down his cheek "I'm sorry.." he mumbled, lifting his knees to his chest and hugging them close.

"it's okay bud, but just tell us next time, okay?" Jay asked, Lloyd nodded and promised, Master Wu walked into the room and glanced at them, his instincts telling him something was wrong.

"what's wrong?" he asked, the Ninja turned to him, Zane was the first to speak "Sensei, may I talk with you privately? I'll explain then." he asked.

Master Wu nodded "very well, Zane." the two walked out of the living room, Kai turned back to his little brother.

"is there any other reason you didn't tell us?" he asked, Lloyd hesitated before she spoke "I.. Was ashamed of them.." he admitted.

Jay frowned "You wanna going a secret?" he asked, Kai let him crouch down in front of Lloyd "I was ashamed of a few scars myself." he told the green bean.

"but, Nya and the others," his gaze flicked to the people surrounding them "they taught me that you shouldn't be ashamed of them, you wanna know why?" he asked.

Lloyd nodded, listening closely "they told me, you shouldn't be ashamed of your scars, scars mean that you went through something tough in the past," he held Lloyd's hands.

He wanted to bring the message over, it helped him, and he knew it would help Lloyd.

"survived it, and came back stronger, scars don't show that your weak, they show that you are strong, that you fought through harm and survived, what's a little mark on your body going to do?" Jay smiled.

"there's nothing to be ashamed of, I used to be ashamed of some scars myself." Nya told him, Lloyd smiled.

"thanks guys, I guess some of us were ashamed of something stupid.." he mumbled, Kai gently grabbed his shoulder "not some of us, all of us."

In that moment Wu and Zane reapearred, Zane walked dover to them "Lloyd, could you come with me for a moment?" Wu asked.

Lloyd nodded, getting off of the couch and followed his Uncle, Wu sighed and grabbed his nephew's shoulders.

"why didn't you tell us?" he asked, Lloyd didn't look at his Sensei "I was ashamed.." he mumbled, Wu sighed.

"there's nothing to be afraid of, look at me Lloyd." Wu told him, Lloyd looked up "You shouldn't be ashamed of your body, no matter how it looks." he rolled up his sleeve.

"look, I have scars too, ones I had been ashamed of until I realized that I shouldn't be." Wu smiled, Lloyd stared at the long scar on his uncles arm.

He rolled his sleeve back down and engulfed him into a hug "next time, if something is bothering you, come to us, we will always be here to talk to." Wu told him, Lloyd nodded, a small smile on his face.

They headed back to the living room, they all showed their scars, they weren't ashamed of them anymore.

The shouldn't have been.

Scars are apart of life, apart of your body, there was nothing to be ashamed about.
