In the morning, Mumbai is bustling with people getting ready for their day. The sun rises, casting a golden glow over the busy city. Amidst the hustle and bustle, there's an energetic atmosphere as Mumbai wakes up.
At Kapoor Industries, everyone is busy with their work. A girl named Priya Sharma arrives and asks at the reception to meet Mr. Ram Kapoor.
The receptionist nods and calls Mr. Kapoor's secretary. After a brief conversation, Priya is asked to wait for some time.
"Miss Sharma," the secretary calls out.
Priya looked up from her chair to look at the secretary.
"Mr. Kapoor wants to meet you now."
Priya took a deep breath and felt a mix of nervousness and excitement as she followed the secretary to Mr. Kapoor's cabin. Walking through the busy corridors filled with employees, she finally reaches his door and takes a deep breath.
As the secretary opened the door, Priya knew it was too late to turn around. Not that she could turn around. She didn't want to ask Ram for help, but there was nothing else she could do; there was no one else she could turn to. Rajat would be mad at her if he knew she had gone to his brother, but Rajat couldn't help her with this. Ram owned the company, and it would have to be Ram who helped her.
"Sir," the secretary said,
"Miss Priya is here to see you."
His eyes traveled upwards and rested on Priya's face for a brief moment before he turned his attention back to the file in front of him. If he was surprised that she was here to see him, he certainly didn't show it.
"Thank you, Jenny, that will be all."
Jenny left, closing the door behind her. Priya stood there in the large room, unsure whether she should sit across from him or wait to be invited to sit down. She waited for a moment, but when he said nothing, she decided to take a seat.
Did he know why she was here? She was trying to be patient, but she wanted to finish this conversation quickly. There was something unsettling about Rajat's older brother; something she couldn't quite understand. He made her feel nervous and unsure of herself.
Priya felt like he didn't like her much. She couldn't remember doing anything to make him dislike her, but maybe it was because she was Rajat's girlfriend. She knew there was some past between the brothers, but she didn't know what it was.
Sitting this close to him, it was impossible not to notice how handsome he was. Rajat was handsome, in a conventional sort of way. Ram was more of the dark and dangerous type. When Ram Kapoor walked into the room, people stopped and took notice. He had an air of authority that couldn't be denied, and the way he filled out his Armani suit normally had the ladies swooning.
The papers referred to him as Ram Kapoor The billionaire playboy. He worked hard but played harder. She'd seen photos of him out on page 3 with one woman after another. Lately, though, it has just been one woman, Isha Singhania, a former beauty pageant winner.
Finally, after what seemed like hours but was probably only a matter of minutes, Ram looked at her.
"Priya, are you here? Is Rajat alright?"
"Yes, Rajat is fine. It's...I have a personal favor to ask of you."
Damn it, her hands were growing damp again. He had to help her; surely he would help her.
"A personal favor," Ram said to her, leaning back in his chair and focusing completely on her. "Now I'm interested."
"My family is in trouble. You might have read about it in the newspaper," she said, noticing him nodding in acknowledgment. "It looks like we might lose everything."
