"That isn't funny Jon," I said, narrowing my eyes at him. "I know that in a-ny second, Terra is gonna come waltzing in here."
"This isn't a joke, Jax," Jon replied. "Terra's gone missing." And I don't know how, but I can practically see into his heart, look into his eyes, and see that he's telling the truth. I doubled over and my eyes turned misty.
"What happened to her?"
"The cops think she was kidnapped."
"Proof?"
"Security camera footage shows that a man in a black car pulled up beside her. She got in the car."
"Who was it?"
"We don't know. A hood covered his face. The car was black. The license plate was fake."
"How do you know?" I rubbed my eyes to keep the tears from falling.
"We found the car with the license plate. It's a blue Tesla."
"Okay," I said. I hesitated, then reached out and grasped his hand. "I'm sorry. We'll find her."
Jon stared down at my hand and then looked away. "Yeah."
