Determination Without Direction

° The Announcement °

Clang! Slash! Clash!

I stopped a bit to catch my breath before me and Allister continued with our sparing lesson as he did the same. Once we regain our breath we got back to our stance. All the servants were staring at us in amusement as we narrowed our eyes at the other determined to win the round.

"Ready?"

" Ready as I could ever be" I smirked as I responded to his question since it was obvious.

We ran at each other being light on our feet but just as I was going to slash my sword at Allister a third sword appear in my line of vision as it stopped mine. I gaped at it in surprise 'til I look at the holder. Once Allister and I looked at Aloysius's serious face we knew we must stop at once. As I let my arms fall at my sides I looked at Aloysius ready to hear what he had in mind unlike Allister who had an annoyed look on his face.

"Message from the king." Aloysius said in his monotone voice as he read my face as it held a confusing stare.

"Great now what did you do this time Allister?" I said sarcastically, as he was the trouble maker of the group, as I saw Aloysius smirk in the corner of my eye.

" H-hey I didn't do anything, except accidentally dropping the bowl of soup on his jester last week, But that's besides the point!" he said trying to defend his point as I chuckled at the memory.

"Anyways now to the serious matters what did the king request?"

"He wants us immediately at the castle, and that he will explain once we arrive."

"Must be urgent since he requested us, well looks like we are paying the king a visit" I stated as I was already sheathing my sword, putting on my gloves, and grabbing my scythe as the other two did as well, except Allister grabbed his Swallow and Aloysius grabbed his warhammer.

Once we got out of Aloysius's house the autumn air hits us as I tried to warm myself up while Aloysius ordered for his carriage.Once it finally arrived we entered quickly to get away from the cold air.

"So Aloysius do you know any reasons why the king asked for us" I questioned as the carriage started moving north to the castle.

He sighed before replying, knowing the news must troubling, I prepared for the worst as Allister looked at him expectantly since he knew what it meant.

" There is a war soon against Galoradia and Utompia" he replied.

The answer hit me like bricks as my eyes widened as a million thoughts ran through my head.

'oh no i-it can't be true' I thought as my throat felt dry all of a sudden. Knowing the possibilities I decided to just lay back and stay quiet and just waited for we to arrive at the castle.
