Chapter 4

Alaina's Pov

When me and Bella get to the diner we see dad pulling up and when we get out I run over to him still upset from what I did and felt when at school hours before and just needed a hug since his hugs always made me feel better no matter what happened.

He was startled for a second before he hugged me back even tighter and chuckled "well I guess you missed me huh pup" I look up at him and smile as my tail starts to wag for the first time in hours making both him and Bella smile.

When we get in dad leads us to a table and when we sit down a lady comes over to us and I couldn't help but think that her scent was familiar. As dad and Bella order I lean closer to her trying to place her scent and when she askes me what I would like I placed it.

She's Cora, she used to serve us and her scent has changed do to age and some new recipes but that's all. My ears shoot up and I tackle her "CORA" I yell and she laughs and so does several other people including my dad who come over and detaches me from her, placing me back in my chair and helps her up.

She looks at me and smiles, placing a kiss to my forehead before pulling away "what can I get you sugar" she asked and I look at my dad.

He smiles and gives me a go ahead motion and I look at her with a bit of drool "Can I have a stake, medium rare, with a side of fries, a cup of sunny d, and a piece of strawberry cheese cake with a scoop of chocolate brownie chunk ice cream please"

I hear the diner break out and I jump not realizing that the whole diner went silent to hear my order and I was startled even more and felt sheepish when I Cora wipes off some drool from my face with a napkin.

We get our food a little later and I dig in quickly before Cora and some guy over "hey you two remember me, I played Santa one year" I look at him freaked out before I look over to dad when he speaks "Waylon they haven't had a Christmas here in years, I highly doubt they can even remember that" he said.

He gives dad a quick glare before looking at me and smirking "yeah but I bet I made an impression after all I was basically a father to Alaina" dad slams his hands down and glares at his.

"I think you should go sit back down. I can smell the alcohol on you and MY kids need to eat and I know for a fact that Alaina likes to eat without the smell of alcohol after all I AM HER FATHER" he says through gritted teeth.

Cora comes over and glares at Waylon before she gives a small sympathetic smile to my dad as she guides Waylon away. As we eat Bella brings up the cullens and dad looks upset going on a rant before saying something about closed minded people.

When we finish eating dad orders four more of the jumbo 3 pound steaks meals for us to eat for our lunches tomorrow and then we headed home and I ran to dads room as he put everything away.

When I burst through the I kick off my shoes and grab the lion king 1 and 2 before putting the first one into his dvd player and jumping onto his bed, sliding under the covers and he comes in with Bella behind him both with chips and ice cream.
