Flight 71JCS, Boeing C-137, United States Air Space"Baker... I'm worried about the Executives, they'll surely blame us for the trouble. Investigations are underway everywhere to find someone liable! Even the War Room is under the committee's scrutiny. They might even bring the JCS into this. How long will it take for you to finish our new testimony?"
"I'll manage. I'm quite busy right now, alright?"
"You have told me this 3 times already, I need your report ASAP. The Committee is getting impatient and the Public is not buying our last statement. Listen, this is how it will be interpreted. The Military had been doing some covert experiments that led to catastrophes consequently annihilated the entire country's order. That's what they will believe the most."
"It must be the Press that kept bringing up the topic... even in this dire time they still lodging for headlines. Can't we blame the Soviet instead?"
"That's impossible, Kissinger still vounched for their innocence. Both of them had good ties with each other. Well, I had been considering it for a while. I can clearly see why they would be a good scapegoat."
"The event is unexplainable, it's a phenomenon, an anomaly. Not any investigations are able to find the cause of it. What do they need to know further? Why are these problems emerging everywhere? Even more, we were unable to de-escalate confrontation against what? Sailships?" Baker complained.

Naval Station Bremerton, WashingtonOnce the seas disturbed by battle, had begun to calm. The whole facility was awakened as Federal agents from all sides flooded the facility's vicinity. Red and Blue police bars flashed their lights among the air of the darkening sky, casting reflection against silhouettes of Parpaldian Sailships and USS Turner Joy porting in the background.
"This is concerning" commented General Baker as he took his time to inspect from afar at the Parpaldian ships which were tugged here for porting. He watched their crews line up with their head covered by bag before being escorted somewhere by the Navy Police. The weariness in his eyes clearly indicated the fatigue due to the long trip from Washington, D.C.
"They fired at my vessel! Although the armor helped, the electricals went bursting! She just returned from LA maintenance a few weeks ago! And you know what comes after? The higher-ups had been investigating and questioning me nonstop. I'd tell you it's going nowhere." angrily complained Commander Eugene, visibly frustrated at his situation.
"I understand, Commander. But it's necessary to get any possible information we can. We still don't know who are these people and where they came from. Right now we really had no idea about the surrounding around us." Baker replied, lighting his cigarette before handing Eugene one.
"Thanks." Eugene humbly accepts. Leaning himself at the guard rail of the inspecting platform while smoking.
"Rothmans International [1], what do you think?" Baker asked.
"It's my type, quite strong one. Judging from the size it must be expensive, isn't it? For me, I generally smoke Marlboro for a budget. But in the end, I'm more of a drinker." Eugene chuckles.
"I wouldn't say any brand is budget-friendly these days unless you go for Chinese's. Besides, Marlboro has its own classic sweet and is great for pack-a-day. It's been too tiring these days not to relax a bit."
"I agree. I couldn't imagine how bad you'd be if you're directly worked in economic sections."
"Now that you mentioned it, the stocks had gone to shit. Generals like me had lost a lot of holdings too. Thanks to the JSC connection I'm still in a manageable state."
