I slip off my powdery dress and pull on the nightgown. It fits perfectly. I'm so tired that I don't hesitate to slip under the quilt. I fall into the arms of my waiting nightmare.
I sit in a chair, my arms tied, my eyes blindfolded, and my mouth gagged. I hear whispering.
"No one can save you now. You are at my mercy. I can't wait to start," a harsh voice whispers. A hand strokes my hair. I scream. Lips press against my neck. I jostle and scream.
"All I have to do wait."I sit up. I scream and tremble and then into racking sobs. Sebastian bursts into my room in nothing but his boxers.
"Are you ok?" he asks, genuinely concerned.
"No," I whimper.
He comes and sits next to me. He holds me close and strokes my hair. I don't care that he's practically naked. It's so comforting.
"It will be ok," he whispers. "It will be fine."
I fall back asleep in his warm embrace.I wake up. The sheets are pulled back on both sides of the bed. Sebastian must've stayed, but left earlier. I sit up. A dress is strewn across the end of the bed. A note scrawled in a neat script is on top.
Myriam dropped off this early this morning. She left and said she'll return after dinner tonight.
Love, Sebastian
P.S. You look beautiful when you sleep.I slip on the knee length blue dress and comb through my hair with my hands. I float as if I'm still dreaming. Love, Sebastian. The handsome butler of Ciel Phantomhive wrote Love, Sebastian. I slip out. I walk around the grounds and house, until I find Finny outside.
"Where's everyone?" I ask.
"Oh, they're just setting up breakfast in the gardens," he says.
"Can you point me in the direction please?" I ask.
"Around the house, on your right," he smiles as he uproots an entire bush.
"Thank you," I say as I walk to the gardens wondering if Finny is some kind of superhuman.I walk around the house and discover beautifully sculpted rose bushes and a small table is set up. Ciel already sits, reading the paper. He puts it down when he sees me.
"Good morning! How'd you sleep?" he asks.
"Fine," I say recalling the nightmare and Sebastian comforting me.
Suddenly, Sebastian appears behind me. His lips inches from my ear
"I'm sorry to intrude, but I thought this lovely princess should have a crown," whispers Sebastian flirtatiously as he places a crown of thornless roses on my head. I blush. I notice Ciel throwing a deathly glare. Sebastian stands.
"Lady Elizabeth, your fiancé, will be visiting this afternoon, Master Phantomhive," he smirks.
First, Ciel is shocked. Then, he looks like he might kill Sebastian.
"I don't care. Tell her I'm sick or something. I already have a guest."
He nods and leaves.
"So, you lied to me?" I ask wanting to know for sure.
"I didn't. It was set up by my father. I thought that maybe over time, that she would be better, but she's a pain. No offense to her, but I'm her opposite in every way! I don't love her at all!"
Ciel looks at me, pleading my forgiveness with his eyes.
"That's why I'm breaking off the engagement."
"What? If I ever broke off my engagement..." I slap my hands over my mouth.
"You're engaged? To who? Why?" Ciel demands, standing.
"I've really never seen him, but I have plans to meet him tomorrow," I say.
"What's his name?" Ciel asks again.
"Um... Alois Trancy," I mumble.
"What!?" Ciel screams. "That twat and his bloody butler are the last people you want to meet!" he yells. "Excuse me, but I must go check on breakfast," he says, stomping back inside.God, how much has been broken in one breakfast?
