With you<3 [Shadow x NB!Reader] [HOLD ON]

Shadow's pov:

I'm walking home in the forest. I did end the stuff I needed to do in G.U.N.. I sigh. "I hate to admit it, but I'm kinda tired. I need some coffee." I murmured under my breath, getting distracted from everything else until I trip over... a foot? I groan and look to the foot I've trip over.

I see a (f/c) (a/t) just sleeping, laying in the grass with their gloved paws in the back of their head.

(Y/n) pov:

I was peacefully sleeping in the forest. There's something about the cold breeze and the flickys shaping that makes it so good to be there.

But suddenly, I felt something hit my foot and hit the grass. My ear twitches swifly at that, and I open my eyes.

I see a black hedgehog with red stripes. He's using the G.U.N. uniform and gold rings in his wrists and ankles.

When I saw him on the ground and immediately got up to help him get up. "Are you alright? Sorry about that." I extended my gloved paw to help him get up.

3rd person pov:

The red-striped hedgehog just groans and ignores the (a/t) paw. "I don't need your help." He says coldly and starts walking again.

As the (a/t) sees the Shadow moving, they quickly get in front of him."But... wait! Your cheek has a scratch!" They say and pick up a leaf of a tree and wipe it in Shadow's cheek, removing the small amount of blood he had.

'Did they just... help me? Why would they do that?' The dark hedgehog thinks. The gesture leaves him confused but also other thing... but he doesn't really know what it is.

"Well... You're welcome!" They say kindly with a smile on their face. "I would appreciate a 'Thank you' but I'll not force you." The (a/t) says and sits where they were before.

"Wait. Why did you do this? You don't even know me." Shadow with a little bit of curiosity in his voice.

"And? Why I shouldn't help you? It was because of my foot, after all." They say.

'They have a point.' Shadow thoughts, but soon his thoughts got interrupted by the (a/t).

"So... what's your name?" They say kindly and put their hand in the back. The red-striped hedgehog groans and crosses his arms. "Why would I tell you?"

They sigh, get up, and take a step closer to Shadow. "I'll start then. I'm (Y/n) The (A/t)." (Y/n) says warmly.

'(Y/n)? Huh... that's a pretty name, I suppose.' Shadow thoughts and blushes very slightly at the thought. He closes his eyes and stays with his arms crossed. "Shadow."

"Shadow? I never heard that name. It's pretty cool!" The (a/t) says and smiles warmly at him.

'They really said that?' Shadow thinks. His ear twitches swifly. "...Thank you." Shadow says quietly.

"You're welcome, Shadow." They say softly and sit again while the dark hedgehog stays with his arms crossed, looking in the opposite direction (Y/n) is.

After some moments of silence, Shadow talks. "What are you doing here after all? You probably know that the florest isn't the safest place."

"Oh, I know. But I love the atmosphere here. It's... relaxing." (Y/n) explains and smiles.

Shadow just let out a small 'hmp' and closes his eyes again until they speak again.

"And you?" (Y/n) asks as their head tilts a bit. "Why are you here?"

The red-striped hedgehog sighs and looks in front. "G.U.N. always send me a lot of missions. I had finished them and was going home... until I sliped over a foot, more spefically, your foot." He says in a slightly annoyed tone.

"Oh, sor-" (Y/n) was going to apologize but got interrupted by Shadow. "No need to apologize, I was de distrected one. And I should get going. I need to buy a few things after going home."

"Oh, okay, Shadow." They say still smiling at the dark hedgehog. "Can I go with you?" The (a/t) asks.

Shadow's ears perk up at the request. He was surprised. 'How they can be so nice to me? We just met and I am sure I don't look friendly.' Shadow sighs at the thought. "No." He says like he was forcing himself to be tough with the (f/c) (a/t) he just met.

"Aw, c'mon, Shadow! Please! Let's know each other better!" (Y/n) spokes again with a his smile slightly smaller by Shadow's denail, but he isn't going to give up on trying.

The dark hedgehog sees their face determinated in going buy some things together and sighs loudly. "Alright." He finally gives in and accepts.

It made the (f/c) (a/t)'s tail to wag a bit, and his ears perk up. They weren't expecting Shadow to accept so fast, but they didn't complain. Their smile gets bigger, and they speak again. "Thanks, Shads!"

In the center of the village, there's always some stalls selling various things, and Shadow and (Y/n) went there. The dark hedgehog does his things, and the (a/t) buys something for themselves, too.

Some minutes after Shadow had lost Ash, they had no idea where they could be. 'Did they already leave? Witout saying anything? Or what if something happened to them-' The dark hedgehog was thinking when his tought get interrupted by (Y/n) letting out a small "Boo!" and making Shadow jump.

They chuckle, and he groans. "Why have you done that?!" He says annoyed, and (Y/n) just keeps chuckling, making Shadow roll his eyes. "Oh! And... I've bought this." They say showing a small crystal. "A crystal?" He asks. "Why would you want one?" The dark hedgehog asks another question, sounding slightly curious.

The (f/c) (a/t) is kinda surprised by the other's curiosity, but they are happy about it, so they don't say a word about it. "Well, this one attracts joy, optimism, and new beginnings. I can give you this one and buy another to myself, if you want." They say cheerfully, seeing the dark hedgehog slowly pick up the object and observe it.

After some seconds of observation, Shadow talks again. "Are you sure this works?" He questions, and I nod. Shadow then takes it and lets out a small 'Mhp' to try to ack tough, which only make they chuckle softly. (Y/n) quickly runs to buy another crystal to themselves and get to dark hedgehog again.

Shadow puts the small object in his quills, and they start walking away. "I'm going home now." He says slightly but very slightly nicer than he talked before. (Y/n) then grab his wrist and say for him to wait, and they give Shadow a paper with their number.

Shadow becomes slightly surprised, but before he could say anything, the (f/c) (a/t) had already gone. Shadow sighs and gets back to his home.

'Why did they treat me so nicely?'

This question surrenders Shadow mind as he walks back home.
