A little boy, around five years old, held onto a white bear. The bear was half burnt, its eye hanging out of the head.

Sirens echoed around him as an orange glow illuminated his face. The grip on the bear tightened as men in red suits jogged past. Their voices drowned out in the crackle of fire.

When I was five, my birth mother messed with the wrong guy. She didn't realise that being a police officer creates enemies.

A hand was placed on his shoulder, and the boy looked up to see Officer Davis. The boy immediately hugged the man's leg, turning away from the burning house.

And that cost her life.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

A hand slowly raised off the mattress, attempting to reach for the beeping alarm. After a few tries, the hand finally touched the button and slammed its fist onto it.

The owner of the hand groaned, the grey sheets shifting as the person sat up, rubbing his face. He heard the faint shouts of his brother and parents, making the boy move his gaze to his unpacked suitcase.

After a year of fighting in Court, Rio and Jeff Morales gained custody of me. They wanted me to keep (Last name) to keep my mother's legacy or something like that.

The teen then glanced over at the small basket of clean clothes and smiled at an idea. Quickly getting out of his bed, he tipped the basket over his suitcase and swiftly plunged a stack of books into his bag.

"(Y/n)! You better be ready to go! Dad's leaving in a few!"

"Yeah! I'm just- putting on my uniform!" (Y/n) yelled out to his older brother, his white shirt seemed to be fighting back.

"(Y/n)!"

"I know, I know!"

Falling sideways onto his bed as he tried to put his socks on, he shouted out to his brother. (Y/n) opened the door, kicking his suitcase out the door. His brother, Miles was pulling apart the shelves before making his way to the steaming rice.

"Anyone seen my laptop?!"

"Didn't you leave it at Ganke's?" Rio, the two's mother, spoke to the older boy as she held a blue phone to her ear.

"Cómo podría olvidar mi computadora portátil! Gracias mamá!" (How could I forget my laptop! Thanks Mum!)

"I have no idea... that thing's practically attached to you like your phone," Rio stated, smacking Miles gently away from the rice.
