"Hey, Sir!"

The night was fresh. The air had just started to cool as the sun began to set. The base was cold and silent..that is until Tim spotted a certain someone.

Commander flinched, startled. He turned around ready to tell someone off before he processed who it was. He took a deep breath and checked his watch. 5:30am

"Its past curfew."

"I got bored! Its not my fault theres nothing to do!"
Tim exclaimed with a smile and a wink.

"How about you stay out by the barracks until 6? You know, like youre supposed to. Theres something to do."

Commander turned around and began walking before Tim stopped him.

"How come you're not where youre supposed to be? Thats not fair.."

Commander sighed and crossed his arms as he looked down at the dusty ass ground.

"You know why, Tim. The new recuit showed up and because someone wouldnt do his job, I have to show her around."

Tim rolled his eyes.

"But youve been spending so much time with her already! She has to know what to do by now!"

Tim pouted and tilted his head. He was tired of his favourite person being taken from him! He needed to have Commander at his side. He deserved it.
Commander rubbed his temples before placing his hands on his hips. He was tired and stressed and Tim was not helping.

"Since you wanna spend time with me so badly, how about we meet in my office?"

Tim knew what that meant. A not-so-pleasant conversation between the two, or just something he didn't feel like dealing with. He sighed, defeated.

"Fine. I'll go back to my post or whatever.."

"When my shift is over I'll plan something for us to do..together, I guess. How about that?"

Tims eyes lit up. He smiled ear to ear as his cheeks became a light pink. His heart fluttered as he began speaking again.

"That'd be great, Sir."

Commander nodded in acknowledgment and began walking back to one of the outdoor posts where he was meeting the new recruit, heels of his boots clicking throughout the almost empty hallway.
