"Why are you so sincere?" Theo asked. "Why are you curious?" she asked. "Curiosity is power." "Curiosity can kill" she said. "That doesn't answer my question." As a spear came towards her, tainted with dark magic, she took out her blade and put it behind her, burning the spear to ash. "I will not fight you" Charlotte said as she re-sheathed her sunforge blade. The minute Aaravos let him out, Theo restarted his arrogance. "Such a damsel in distress" he said. As he expected her to just leave, he was shocked when she laughed. "Who said I was in distress?" she asked as she stabbed his stomach with the sunforge blade and pulled it out, earning several hard winces from Theo and showing slight lava cracks on her skin. "Oops" she said with a smirk as she pushed her braids behind her shoulder. "Such little amount of work for so much beautiful blood, don't you think?" she asked, looking at her blade that was burning away the blood on it and back at the puddle of blood. Aaravos smirked. For once, someone wasn't truly scared of him. She was calm and collected, not scared of Theo, Viren, Claudia, and even Aaravos. "Why didn't you fight? Last time I checked you were incredibly stubborn, specifically with your brothers" Viren said, recalling her fights with her brothers. My imbecilic brothers and an archmage and two dark mages are two completely different things if you didn't notice. "My brothers are sloppy, slow, and not on the same level as me when it comes to magic, and aren't armed with a sunforge blade and staff from my aunt, Queen Khessa." Aaravos's ears perked slightly at the name. She was a princess. "We must pick and choose our battles. What is the point of fighting a pointless fight? No matter what anyone does, there will always be those that are evil, and those who feel they are dragged down, even though it is completely their choice, those that let history chain them down, those who refer to the past as the forever future. But their key error; letting history define their version of the world. Some things are inevitable. The past, the future, and all of life. You can try to change anything, but the outcome will never be good or bad, it will always be a mix of the two, dependent on those who are speaking of it. Peace will always require more strength than war. As I said, Theo, Curiosity can kill, Sincerity simply welcomes them to the both paradise and horror of death and bloodshed, the cost of war. History does not define anything, nor does strength and weakness. Curiosity can kill, no matter what anyone says, and sincerity will not change that, but simply welcome the dead to the unknown paradise and horror of death" she said, not even looking back as she left the room, her heels slightly clicking against the steps as her back skirt flowed behind her. "She is clever" Aaravos said. Theo, Viren, and Claudia were in awe at how well this girl, only 13, sounded like a scholar, amazingly clever and spoke as if she understood more than the world could. As Charlotte walked through the hall, she heard steps behind her. In seconds she was doing a backflip, dodging a hit from Soren. "Gotta be quicker than that" she said as she dodged each hit with swift and precise movements. "Now I'm going on the offense" she said with a smirk as with each attack she became stronger, careful not to hurt him but still only holding back slightly. "Soren?" Claudia asked, looking at the two sparring as Charlotte helped Soren up and was laughing, giving him pointers on how to be careful about how much force he puts into his sloppier attacks. "Charlotte, go ahead." "Soren!" she yelled as she created a wall of fire around him, protecting him from the dark magic being sent at him from Viren. "So she can do magic also" Aaravos said with a smirk. As Soren got out, Charlotte was sure that there was no point in fighting them. They had an archmage on their side, she couldn't win this fight. But then, she felt something bite down on her neck as she fell to the floor, unconscious and barely breathing. As the caterpillar wrapped around her neck, it squeezed, causing her to choke slightly until it loosened, slipping off and onto Aaravos's finger. As Aaravos erased the fire, he saw her, fire dancing in her hands and slight lava cracks appearing on her skin, hair glowing slightly as she stirred slightly in her sleep. "Impressive for such a young girl" he said, looking at the tan-skinned, brown-eyed, and brown and red-haired, brown from the roots down and red at the end girl. As the magic inside of her flowed, he smirked and chuckled slightly. "She is much stronger than I expected. For a young girl, half human also, this would usually take a toll on her body, but it seems it only made her stronger. We must leave. We are coming back for her soon" he said as the four left, leaving her on the ground, fire dancing in her hands as Soren carried her to the infirmary. "Are you okay Charlotte?" Soren asked. "I'm fine, just he did something to me." "Who?" Soren asked. "A startouch elf, he-he had killed a relative of mine named Queen Khessa. I recognized him" Charlotte said, remembering the day Janai had explained to her what had happened to her aunt. As Rayla and Callum talked to her, they identified him as Aaravos, the great archmage that had killed her great-grandmother Queen Aditi and the former queen of the dragons, Luna Tenebris. "So what did he do to you?" Callum asked. "Delens deceptionem" she said as she showed a rune and held the moon opal tight in her hand that Rayla had given her, and immediately they saw a glowing purple scar on her neck. "Some caterpillar or something was wrapped around my neck and I couldn't breathe." "The only time I've ever seen this was on Viren's neck. He had some big caterpillar on his neck that was somehow speaking? It was some spell Aaravos had cast. He obviously did it to you. Just, try to avoid being a target for him, he won't hold back if he thinks he can use you. And if he really thinks he can, you aren't going to be safe for long."

At the Storm Spire~

As Aaravos and Theo entered the room, they saw a sleeping Charlotte. Her arm was slightly extended with one leg bent and one leg straightened as her braids were everywhere, touching from each side of the bed. As Theo put the caterpillar on her neck, it swirled up and down, leaving rings of magic choking her as she bent her head back and her chest puffed up as she sucked in her stomach and breathed heavier, now twisting and turning in her sleep as her blade floated to her and pressed it's heat against her, causing the cold poison to slow its flowing and lava cracks to show on her skin as fire danced around her arms in swirls of magic. As the caterpillar bit down on her chest, she winced hard and couldn't move. As her fierce expression changed, it became unreadable and plain, not able to move or breathe. She has a strong connection to sunfire magic, but weirdly enough, also the star arcanum. As the caterpillar bit down directly in the center of her chest, magic flowed from the bite and into an orb. As Aaravos looked at it, two symbols shone, a fire and a star. "A Star and Sunfire connection. How...rare." He looked at the struggling girl with a smirk and sent the magic back into her, now paralyzed by the poison from the caterpillar. As her chest puffed up and she sucked her stomach in, she shifted in her sleep as fire danced around her skin and she was transformed into a long flowing dress with star patterns as a tiara appeared on her head. "Her true form" he said as her hair fell off the bed, now long and out, curly but not tangled. As Aaravos finger-combed her hair, a diamond startouch necklace appeared on her chest. He smirked as he clutched the necklace and corrupted it as it clung to her chest and her eyes shot open. Everything was so blurry. All she could see was two figure standing over her, who they were she did not know. She couldn't see anything, her sight flashing between the regular room and full red, nothing visible and barely able to breathe. "What's happening to me?!" she exclaimed as her chest once again puffed up and she sucked in her stomach as Aaravos smirked. As the red started to take over her sight, she passed out. He lifted her almost lifeless chin as she struggled slightly in his grip but was overtaken by the immense amount of energy that it took to fight the poison. Her mouth opened slightly as her eyes blinked lightly, not awake but slowly waking. "Sleep" he said as he flicked her forehead and her eyes rolled to the back of her head. "We will come for her soon. For now, this will prove enough" he said as he touched the necklace and enchanted it to stay on her.

2 weeks later~

"Callum, I will be fine." "No Charlotte how do we know he won't come for you?" "Fine" she said, rolling her eyes. "Now show me." "Do I have to?" she asked. "Yes" he said. "Fine. Delens Deceptionem" she said as a huge red and black scar was revealed. "Charlotte this is so much worse. How much magic have you been doing?" he asked, looking at the HUGE scar covering her chest. "A good amount..." "CHARLOTTE! You aren't supposed to be doing magic the stone is drawn to your magic, the stronger it gets the harder it will work to corrupt you. Can I?" She nodded as he touched the scar and her legs went numb as she fell to her hands and knees. "CHARLOTTE!" he yelled, shaking the girl as her eyes rolled to the back of her head. "Solve Fasciculos!" he exclaimed as she shot up breathing heavily. "NO MORE MAGIC." "Yeah, I know." "Now come on we have to go speak to Rex Igneous again." "AGAIN!?! HE ALMOST KILLED YOU GUYS!!!" "Yeah, I know now come on.

With Rex Igneous~

"So where did you lock his power with Avizandum?" "Me, Sol Regem, and Avizandum all locked his power away together, but I do not know where. We had your great-grandmother erase our memory of where so that no elf or dragon knew." "So then how do you know!?!" "It is simple" a deep voice spoke. "He possesses the knowledge, not actually has the answer to where." "Aaravos" Rex Igneous said. Callum spoke to Charlotte. "Charlotte, if anything happens, you need to run." Aaravos heard this and laughed. "How will she be able to run if she is barely conscious!" he asked as he snapped and her eyes rolled to the back of her head as she fell to her knees. "Charlotte!" Callum exclaimed as he rushed to her side. As Aaravos smirked, he created a replicating spell as Claudia played a flute and it echoed around the room as they all passed out. "No..."Rayla said as her eyes rolled to the back of her head and Aaravos flicked her forehead as she fell to the ground, the last one awake other than Charlotte. As Claudia and the other elf Terry worked to get the...thing off, Aaravos stared at the young elf, passed out and on the floor, a moon opal on her neck. "Oops" he said with a smirk as he corrupted the moon opal and her chest started to show red cracks.
