"...four, and we're five." Ian mumbles, scanning the people in front of him before turning back to the resort staff that has been waiting with them outside the hotel. "I'll take it from here, you can go back inside now. Thank you."
"Yes, sir. Please enjoy your stay here."
Ian is fun to watch, but Lucas won't say this out loud as it is not in his nature to openly compliment someone. He's baby-faced, and always smiling. Then his cold eyes shifted to Theo, who is also his friend, according to Kyle. This one looks prickly but kind at the same time.
If the surroundings are not idyllic and breezy, Lucas probably has lost all his patience by now.
"We're here."
A man's grunting caught their attention; behind his tall and wide, handsome proportion is the couple whereby one is beaming in happiness while the other looks strange because his eyes project that his mind is occupied by something worth overthinking.
"Finally, we're complete! I thought it would take you guys all day to come down," says Theo.
Alex placed his arm over his friend's shoulder. Sighing loudly, he then pointed at Gab and Chinna. "You're right. If I didn't stay behind, these two would surely come out of their room for god-knows-what-time. So, everyone, you can thank me now."
Chinna began bickering with him, followed by Theo until everyone also started vocalizing their rants about how the couple is always making them wait. Well, aside from certain two people who look like they are not hearing any noise as of the moment.
Lucas clicked his tongue as he noticed Gab keeps on glancing at him. He must be thinking that I will tell Chinna what I saw last night.
He stayed unconcerned, thinking that Gab should have nothing to worry about if he was really faithful to his girlfriend. But undeniably, there is a part of his mind that contradicts himself; he said some foul words when he never even saw Gab touch the random girl once.
Huh, so it means I saved him.
"Guys, let's go! We're going to play with the resort's giant babies!" Ian excitingly leads them to their first activity, although he is the first giant baby in Lucas' eyes.
"Nice, now it looks like we're on a company outing heading for some team-building activities," Alex commented, making his friends laugh.
Gab caught Lucas' attention for the second time today not only because of way the younger genuinely expresses his bubbly side, for Gab laughs with his whole body---throwing his head and body slightly backward yet the laughing sound he makes is surprisingly not too loud and is soft to ears.
Kyle cleared his throat. "The exes are staring, e-hem."
