Hmm...
The little redhead boy hummed as he picked up a flower from the ground. His family brought him to a trip to another capital to bound together as allies but unfortunately one of the carriage wheels seems to be broken and had to make a quick nearby stop.
While his parents are busy with the problem, he accidentally wanders around and ended up in a secluded spot. He crouch down and observe the few flowers and insects because there's not much to do there before picking up a flower mentioned in the beginning.
"What are you doing?"
Someone interrupt his moment of silence. He look to the side to see a little girl around his age with brown hair and dark green eyes, her arms crossed in a pretty sassy way and her face shows confusion with a tiny bit of displeasure. The little boy raises an eyebrow when he saw her and reply in a calm manner to uphold his royalty, "I am simply looking at the flowers.. What are YOU doing?" The little girl looked down before responding, "This is my secret spot.." The boy just nod in acknowledgement before looking away to continue minding his own business, not caring if this was the little girl's secret spot.
The girl simply huffed at him when she saw his nonchalant attitude and stand there for a while, not knowing what to do. Against her 'better' judgement, she sat down next to him quietly. The boy didn't even glance at her but he also didn't move away so the little girl thought he's fine with it. Silence overcome them as the both of them silently mind their own business, the boy fiddling with the flowers he held and the girl fiddling with random objects she found.
The little boy suddenly stand up surprising the girl beside him, "I should get going," he said blankly before turning away to start walking away. However, before he could go any further, a hand grab the end of his sleeve, stopping him from walking. He turn his head to look down at the still sitting girl who seemed shocked as well. "What?" The boy questioned albeit annoyed. The girl shyly hand him a tiny carved wooden lion. Small enough to fit his palm.
This surprises the boy and he looked in daze at the wooden lion in his palm as the girl stop grabbing at his sleeve. "You're the only one to know about my secret spot so...! So... don't tell anyone!" She demanded towards the boy. Said little boy, look up from the carved wooden lion to her with a small smile. He nods and said, "Thank you.." before going back to walking away to his parents, now with a new companion.
From that day onwards, the little boy would sometimes visit the secret spot and each time, he'll be met with the little girl. They never exchange names but they figure it wasn't needed. The girl would drag the boy into many kinds of games, wether it was created originally by her or not. They had fun but soon the visit would become less and less before the boy stopped appearing. It broke the little girl's heart but she didn't know that it broke his heart more. The only friend he has, only for him to leave behind because he has a duty as the heir of his capital.
Everyday after, he always had the little girl in his mind and keep the carved wooden lion beside him secretly. He misses the girl. He wished that one day he'll found her again. If only he knew her name.

"Your Majesty? Everything alright?" A servant asked the king when they noticed the dazed look on his face. The king snapped out of his thoughts and immediately regain his composure, "I am fine. Do not worry about me." The servant simply nodded hesitantly before continuing doing what they were doing before.
The king glance to the side, seeing the tiny wooden lion on his desk as an unnoticeable smile appears on his face when he replays the memories of him and the girl when they were children.
Maybe he should've promised marriage to her. Doesn't matter if that's not allowed because he's king now.
Maybe once they meet again, he can start courting her.s
