it's a goodbye then...

a letter to luffy

Luffy and the crew were on their ship as usual. It had been about 5 weeks since he and Koby last saw each other.
Luffy was lying on the floor of the boat, Facing the sky While wearing the straw hat to prevent the sun from shining directly into his eyes.

-"oi shitheads, lunch is ready"- Sanji shouted from the kitchen and a clatter of plates and cutlery could be heard coming from inside.
Luffy yawns and gets up, stretching and looking to the side. To his surprise, there was a letter-delivering seagull on the ship's fence. He approaches with a big smile on his face and bends down slightly so that he is at the seagull's level.

-"hey there buddy! Got something for me?"- The straw hat pirate asked, taking the letter that the bird brought and analyzing it. His eyes lit up when he saw that The sender was Koby, And Luffy runs to the kitchen where the rest of the crew were already sitting and eating.
The boy sits in the free chair and looks at the others smiling, looking visibly excited

-"Koby sent me a letter!"- Luffy says and no one seemed very interested and the most that was said came from Nami

-"hm, That's great"- She said without taking her eyes off the plate of food in front of her and continuing to eat. Without waiting any longer, he tore open the envelope, removed the paper inside and began to read.

Hello Luffy! (And rest of the crew)
Hope this letter finds you well.

Things in the navy have been going well and I hope everything is going well for you guys too:) I've been wanting to send this letter for about 2 weeks, but I only had the courage to actually write it now.
I'm getting better and better and it would never have been possible to be where I am now without your help that night. I will be forever grateful for what you did for me ♡
You didn't know me and yet you fought with Alvida to protect me and supported me even though my dream was stupid. You are genuinely a person with a good heart, that would give his life to protect those he loves... and that is simply incredible!
I wish you all the luck in your quest for One Piece and I'm sure you'll be able to become the king of the pirates.

I miss you, stay safe Luffy

When Luffy finished reading he just stared at the text, trying to Process everything.
Suddenly he feels someone punch (Without hurting him obviously) him in the shoulder. Usopp who had punched him and was sitting next to Luffy, just smiles and says

-" You better start eating, the food is getting cold"

The boy smiles and puts the letter on his lap, starting to eat and talking to the others.
