The rain was pouring down at Beauxbaton. It was disgustingly loud and tainting the fragile stained glass windows. Luckily they had charms against the harsh force.
"I heard it is dark and cold all year."
"Well Fleur went last year and she said it was a beautiful school." As the girls bickered around, Roxanna was spaced out, she didn't want to be leaving in the middle of her academics. Her friends knew she was moving, but weren't aware of the reason. Roxanna wasn't entirely either although her mother explained it to her many times.
All the blue petticoated girls surrounding Roxanna were gossiping about Harry Potter and how every year since he joined, the ministry has gotten called to Hogwarts.
"Anna what is there at Hogwarts again? Houses?" The girls roared into laughter. Roxanna snapped her head towards them, finally out of her disassociation.
"How childish. Getting sorted into houses is such a tedious task." One of the girls mocked. Getting sorted into houses was a tedious task, almost made for the immature who can't find friends or even themselves. Roxanna enjoyed her time with her friends and savored every last sound of their voice. For they were the people who made her and grew up with her and this would be the final night she really saw them.
As her and her mother were packing the bags, she thought about what the girls said. There were four houses that were known for their high stature; Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Roxanna had not an ounce of what they meant or which house she'd be sorted into. Angelica Bane, her mother, had gone to Beauxbaton for her magic schooling and didn't have anymore knowledge to share with her daughter other than she believes it is a good system.
The bags were packed and the room became hollow. They needed to leave tomorrow morning yet Roxanna's hands were glued to her bed. She grasped the white linen sheets and embraced them, almost thanking them for raising her and keeping her warm at night. With shaky hands she let go and finally headed out, closing the door from her past life and moving forward.
"Mon chou worry not, this is move is a step towards stability."
Roxanna held her mothers hand and absorbed her words. A step towards stability.
