It seemed like forever, but I went away for the summer to meet my grandparents. I had a great time, I got to know so much about my mom.

They told me how they deeply regretted how they treated her and what their actions drove her to do. At the end of the summer they asked me if I wanted to come live with them.

I'd love to but I couldn't leave everyone behind. While away I learned that Dre proposed to Nina and their gonna get married, todays the wedding.

I cried my eyes out when I found out that Nina wanted me in the wedding. She sent me dresses and things to try on so that when I came back everything would be perfect.

The day I came back was the same day as her wedding so it was a really stressful day for everyone.

When I pulled up to the house it was like the Amazing Race. I ran inside but everyone was already at the wedding.

"Hey Malaya" Keisha said giving me a hug once I got upstairs. "Omg, Keisha I missed you so much" I said hugging her back.

"Me too but we don't have time I need to get you ready" she said. "Okay thanks" I said and we ran to my room.

My dress was hanging up and I quickly put it on. I had curled my hair yesterday so all Keisha had to do was style it as I did my makeup.

Once we finished that I grabbed my purse, heels, and lotion and ran to the car. We pulled up to a beautiful venue with lots of land.

"Let's go!" Keisha yelled and we hopped out of the car running as fast as we could. We got to a building where I saw Nina and Kev standing.

Keisha ran straight out since it was her turn to walk in the ceremony. "Malaya!" Nina and Kev said, "hey guys, I missed and love both of you but there's no time" I said and walked out the room and down the aisle with Keisha.

I walked slowly and tried to look effortless since I didn't get a chance to practice with everyone. As I was walking someone caught my eye, Jake.

He definitely got taller over the summer, and his dreads got longer. We were supposed to keep in touch over summer but that only lasted about two week.

He was busy, I was busy, we didn't get to talk that much. I got to the end of the isle and stood next to Keisha as Kev and Nina walked down.

As they walked I realized how beautiful the wedding was. It was outside by the water with lots of white and pink flowers, like Jake bought me.

The chairs had beautiful green vines with flowers on them and all the attendants were wearing shades of blue.

I was so excited for Nina and Dre, their love was so beautiful. "I thought I knew what love was my whole life, but then I found you" Nina said.

"And you taught me the true definition of what it means to be loved completely. I never thought I would want to remarry. I thought if I was lucky enough to find love once, I'd never find it again." She said.

I zoned out a bit for the rest of her speech, I love her but it was really long. After she spoke so did Dre.

"There's something I want to say to both of you" Dre said looking at Keisha and Kev. "I know y'all didn't get to pick me, your mother did.

But when i chose your mother, I chose y'all too. I want you to know that I can't wait to be apart of this family.

Keisha I know we don't always see eye to eye, but you're a strong woman. You're smart and you got a good heart.

And Kevin boy you been through a lot these past years, but you're still the bravest person I know. You're not afraid to go after what you want, keep that energy.
