"She still not here?" I asked as I stood in the doorway of Keisha's room. "No" Kev said sitting infront of her computer.

Keisha hasn't been home since two days ago when she left on the night of the wedding. Me and Kev were starting to get worried but we didn't want to panic for nothing.

"Keisha where's- Where's Keisha" Nina asked as she walked up behind me. "She went on her morning run" Kevin said.

"Is that true?" She asked looking at me, I can't lie to her. "yeah she went on her morning run" I lied.

"I haven't seen Keisha since we've been back, why are you two covering for her?" She asked. "We're not, she'll be here when we get home" Kev said and we both rushed out the room.

I went to my room to finish getting ready. Me and Jake haven't seen each other since that night. He told me Mr. Perry, or dooda as he calls him said me and Kev can ride to school with him.

Any other day I probably would have said no but now that we're official and I haven't seen him in two days I said yes.

I put on my khaki colored skirt and my white button up shirt. I tucked my shirt into my skirt slightly and put my dark green North Side sweater on.

I wore my hair in a low curly bun with curls out on the sides. I feel like I've been wearing my hair straight a lot so I went back to my natural hair today.

I grabbed my makeup bag and put it in my backpack and called an Uber to Jakes house so I could finish getting ready there.

I didn't want to waste money on a uber but it's September in Chicago so it's fairly cold. Plus dooda doesn't live close so it was easier.

The Uber pulled up and I got out and knocked on the door. Jake opened the door wearing a Red Bulls jersey and holding a basketball.

"Hey" I said smiling, "what's up" he said pulling me in for a hug and giving me a kiss. "Come in I gotta put my uniform on" Jake said.

I walked inside next to Jake as he dribbled the basketball. Out of no where Douda walked up to us.

"Nice to see you again" he said in the mellow tone he always has. "You too" I lied, "Do you like living here" Dooda said to Jake.

"Yeah it's cool" Jake said, Jake was lying. Living with Mr. Perry was more than cool, this is probably the nicest house Jakes ever seen.

"Do you want to keep living here?" He said in a more strict tone. "Yeah" Jake said, "then stop dribbling that ball in my house" Dooda said.

"If you can't follow my rules maybe I should have your brother trig come for you" He said, "Trig? He dead" Jake said.

"He's not dead, and he's very keen about getting you in his custody" Dooda said, "Well he dead to me" Jake said.

"Wonderful, don't make this mistake again" Dooda said taking the ball from Jakes hand and walking away.

Jake and I continued walking up stairs and he walked me into his room. "Who's trig?" I asked him, "trig my oldest brother" he said.

"Why did you think he was dead" I asked, "he left me and Reg a long time ago. Dead and gone starting to seem like the same thing to me."

He seemed a bit agitated so I sat down on the floor and started doing my makeup as he started putting his uniform on.

"Did Keisha come home yet?" He asked buttoning his shirt up, "not yet. I know she leaves a lot but I just have a bad feeling about this time" I said.

"It'll probably work itself out, it's Keisha we talking about"He said, "yeah I guess" I said.
I started curling my lashes and putting mascara on.
