Banditkit awoke in the middle of the night to a loud crash, her ears flattening as she saw flashes of lightning, the rain aggressively hitting her fur. Wait, where was Fogleap? This isn't normal, something's off. She got up from her nest, spotting a cat skull. Fog in the distance, a grizzly bear running towards her as the fog disappeared.

Banditkit panicked, got up from her nest and unintentionally bit her mother's leg full force, thinking it was the bear. She panted, realizing it was just a dream.

"Sorry!" She gasped as she continued to pant.
"Don't worry about it, Banditkit. Just get back to sleep" The rain pelted her fur, she was too shocked to go back to sleep.
"I can't, mama..." She sighed, hyperventilating.
"Why not?"
"The bear is going to kill me..."
"What bear, sweets?"
"The bear, it was just there!"
"Hey, hey... Shhh! You'll be okay, it was probably just a nightmare." She purred, attempting to comfort Banditkit.
"What's going on?" Stormkit groaned "I'm trying to sleep"
"Banditkit had a nightmare" Fogleap replied softly.
"No, I swear... It was real!" Banditkit replied swiftly in a panic.
The rain hit her coat so hard it threatened to knock her off the ground. Thunder came crashing down, a gasp coming from the warriors den. Following the gasp came a cry for help. Swifthare darted across the camp.

"What happened to her?" He meowed, exhausted.
"I don't know! I think she got struck while going to get some prey..." Some cat meowed.
Banditkit could just barely make out the pelt of Frostedlake. A new black marking on her side, breathing heavily.

"Let me see this..." Swifthare meowed, parting the she-cat's fur and looking to see the damage, staring blankly.
"Only Starclan can save her now... " He sighed.
"But she's expecting!" Raccoonpelt hissed.
"I doubt they'll make it, but we don't know that for sure. We're going to have to wait until her kitting." Swifthare lowered his head. "If she survives long enough."
"Get the deathberries already!" She hissed, obviously in pain. "If I have any chance of surviving now Starclan will tell me!" She yowled.

Banditkit went back into the den, snuggling up against Fogleap. Sobbing, Frostedlake was like a second mother to her.

"Hey, hey, hey, Banditkit, it's okay." She meowed in hopes of calming her.
"But Frostedlake is dying!"
