1 Month Later

It had been a month since their marriage. Aryaa spent her time bickering with Veer, but things were going well between them. Meanwhile, Siya had immersed herself in the world of Wattpad, as even after a months, her husband hadn’t shown up.

She only heard from the family that he was still in Germany on a business trip. They tried to console her, saying it was important, but she knew the truth—he was avoiding her.

Abeer and Pari often kept them company, sharing stories about their husbands.

To say the least, Siya was hurt, and Aryaa was disappointed in God.

Aryaa never wished for a good husband but always hoped for the best brother-in-law, someone who would take care of her sister just as Siya had cared for her. Avyansh clearly wasn’t that person.

Though Siya didn’t have Avyansh around, she used the time to bond with the family, becoming close to them over the course of  one months.

The sun rose, signaling the start of a new day, and the house was bustling with activity.

As Siya and Aryaa came down for breakfast, they were surprised to see Avyansh sitting with the rest of the family.

Siya had almost forgotten she had a husband. He still looked as hot as he had the last time she saw him. Avyansh was clearly God’s favorite, and Siya wasn’t one to deny it. She knew her husband was attractive.

But now, the awkwardness hung in the air, and the disappointment she had carried for the past month came rushing back.

She quietly sat beside Pari, ignoring him as he had ignored her for the past one month.

He often called other family members, but he had never made any effort to talk to her, so she didn’t either. But she could definitely feel his intense gaze on her.

On the other hand, Avyansh observed her closely after a whole long month. She looked as beautiful as ever. The divine aura she carried, wearing a red chiffon saree, with long jhumkas adorning her small round face. The only jewelry on her neck was her mangalsutra, and her sindoor was clearly visible in the partition of her hair, sumbolising their marriage.

He also noticed how well she had integrated into his family. How she would scold his dadi when she tried to sneak sweets, or how she remembered that his father was allergic to almonds.

"Abeer, that's too spicy," she said as Abeer reached for a bowl of curry.

"Thank you, bhabhi. Ap nahi hoti to kya hota." Abeer replied, keeping the bowl back.

(Thank you, sister-in-law. Who knows what would have happened without you.)

"Bhabhi nahi hoti to dadi apni dawaiyan bhul jaati, bade papa apne chashme, badi maa ko favorite chai nahi milti, aur maa ke gossip sunne wala koi nahi hota. Papa to office jaana hi bhool jaate." Veer said dramatically, making everyone laugh, except Avyansh, of course.

(If sister-in-law wasn't here, dadi would forget her medicines, bade papa his glasses, badi maa wouldn’t get her favorite tea, and no one would listen to maa's gossip. Papa would even forget to go to the office.)

They all had a cheerful breakfast, after which everyone went about their day.

As Avyansh was about to leave his room, Siya called out, "Suniye-"

But Avyansh, being who he was, cut her off. "Don’t expect anything from this marriage. And please don’t start acting like a typical wife, asking me where I’ve been for the past one month. I’m not interested in all that, and you should know that by now. So behave how I expect you to. And yeah, you don’t need to pretend to be the perfect daughter-in-law either." He said, turning on his heels and leaving the room.
