Rose uncrossed her legs as she rose from the cream Eichholtz Bjorn sofa. The office was dark as the high ceiling drapes blocked any light from entering the room. The lights were off, save for the candles scattered around which very dimly lit the office. The candles gave a woody but citrus scent to the room. Minimalist furniture with a dark colour scheme lay neatly around the office and the large oakwood table sat in front of the large drapes tied the entire room together.

Lucas, Rose's husband. No. Soon to be ex-husband sat at behind the large office table with a grim expression as he scribbled on sheets of paper. The man was dressed in a grey suit and his hair was neatly swept back. His sharp features stood out despite the dim lighting in the room.

A brown envelope sat neatly at the edge of the table and Rose approached it. She had been called to his office through his secretary. The blonde lady in heels and a dress she swore was two sizes too small for the woman, had rudely walked into her study without knocking and informed that she was being 'summoned'. The lady proceeded to walk out, slamming the door behind her without waiting for a response.

Rose had become accustomed to the subtly rude treatment from Lucas' employees. She expected no more from them seeing as their boss - her husband - showed little to no regard for her. Rose had taken her time in making her way to Lucas' office. She had worn a simple white satin dress with Chanel slippers. She put on very light makeup and let her ginger curls lay naturally in place.

As Rose approached the older man's table, she could smell his cologne. It added to his aura, not like he needed any more. The atmosphere around the man alone was enough to demand respect from those around him. This was something Rose had actually come to admire about the man. Due to her reclusive and quiet nature, she did not really stand out. This did not mean Rose allowed disrespect however. Rose was much respected by her employees, and professionals within her field. This was something Lucas was unaware of.

"I'll get these signed and someone will drop them off at your office within the week. You will be moved out by tomorrow yes?" Rose asked in a monotone voice.

Lucas stopped writing and the office entered pin drop silence.

The man looked up at her from the paperwork and Rose could now clearly see the features every woman in the country fawned over. Not like she hadn't seen them every now and then for the past 4 years. No matter how much she had seen him, his features still intrigued her.

Lucas' piercing green eyes stared into Rose's hazel ones.

"Yes" The man said, his deep voice filling the entire office.

Rose knew that was all she was getting from him as the sound of fountain pen scratching against paper filled the room again.

Rose slid the envelope under her left underarm and then made her way out of the office. She felt nothing from the exchange or from her impending divorce.

The man had ignored her ever since their marriage when she was 19. Yes she was an heiress, but that did not mean she was exempted from the concept of 'arranged marriages'. Now that both her and Lucas' companies had gotten the benefits they sought from their marriage, Rose knew it was only a matter of time before Lucas would serve papers. When 6 months had passed and Lucas had still not served her papers, Rose had thought about serving him papers instead, but like she thought, he had beat her to it. Two days after she had contacted her lawyers, Lucas' secretary had got in touch with her.
