Chapter one

The house was alive around eight am, Jessica woke to loud rap music blaring. She rolled over putting the pillow over her head.

"Why and the hell are they blasting music this early in the morning?" She mumbled, "thank god i leave for tour later."

Jessica was the daughter of the singer/rapper Jelly Roll. Jessica was twenty-seven and her younger sister, Bailey was a freshman in high school. Jessica had been on a long road dealing with a lot of pain and abuse. She didn't want her sister to experience what she went through.

Jessica also had endometriosis and was dealing with that one day at a time. Jess got up slowly and popped her neck along with her back. She took a shower then got ready for the day. Dressing in her baggy jeans and slightly oversized shirt that made it sit slightly off her right shoulder, she made her way downstairs to make herself a bowl of cereal.

She saw Bunnie, her step mom in the kitchen.

" morning, you make coffee?" Jess asked.

"I sure did," Bunnie said. "Would you like for me to pour you a cup?"

"Yes please."

"It sucks I'm leaving y'all for a while." Jess said.

"First time on the road without us, too. You'll be fine," Bunnie said as she smiled at Jess.

"Gonna be weird with so many men around." She chuckled.

"You can handle yourself just fine around those men. You know Brent, Zach, Barry and Eric adore you."

"Yeah, I'm trying to make sure I got everything."

"Did you go by the list we made?"

"Yeah and the list in case I have a super bad period."

"Good. You know they have an EMT on their staff, so if you need medical assistance, it will be right there.'

"Yeah I'm grateful for that."

Jess shoveled all of her red hair on top of her head and wrapped it up.

"You hot," Bunnie asked.

"Probably just a hot flash."

"You're in your twenties."

"Hello endometriosis," Jess said with a smile on her face.

Bunnie shook her head.

"You know, Bailey's homecoming dress has a slit in it." Jess said.

"I am aware."

"I told her you would be pissed."

"I am, but I'll get over it."

"She'll learn."

"Yeah, she will. She's fifteen going on thirty," Bunnie said with a giggle.

"Damn I remember when I went to the festival dad was playing last year and my shorts ripped. Thank god Brent lended me his flannel."

"I remember that."

"Like I just bent down to tie my shoe and rip."

"Hey, shit happens. I'll leave you alone so you can eat."

After finishing her cereal. She went upstairs brushing her teeth. She found a few more things she needed to pack as she brushed her teeth. She heard her phone beep and ran into the bedroom to grab it.

"Hey sis?"

"Yeah?" Jess asked.

"Never mind, that's me with that text message. Are you able to do my makeup and hair?"
