Elvaira had her head out the window, enjoying the breeze that covered her face and made her eyes water. She sat in the front seat, Thomas driving and Johnny sitting in the back, watching his sister happily. He  couldn't believe she was back with him and going home where she belonged.

On occasion Thomas would steal glances at her, he felt like his world was uprooted at seeing her once again by his side. His past feelings tugged deep within his heart but he pushed them away, not needing to get distracted by the woman he once knew.

"So, Tommy, what has life been like without me?" Elvaira asked in a teasing manner as she lounged in the car. A slight smile started to form on his face but it quickly vanished. "It has been boring without you, John will be thrilled." Thomas said in a monotone voice.

"I bet it has, I'm the life of the party Tommy." She reached over and gently tapped his chin with her finger. It killed Thomas how she was the same girl he left behind all those years ago and yet he was so different, he was cold and uncaring and here was his sunshine, his love back and he couldn't appreciate it. Johny was watching from the back seat, a bit of a saddened look on his face.

Elvaira sighed softly as she slipped her shoes off as she pulled her feet up on the cushion of the car. Thomas looking over at her.

The smoke and working sounds of Small Heath have now come into view. The girl's eyes brightening. "I have never seen someone look so thrilled by the smog and grit of Small Heath." Thomas commented as he looked out at the town. "This is my home, Tommy. I am finally home so I will appreciate it." She giggled, the woman was rarely cross and always seemed to have a good outlook.

Elvaira was practically bouncing in the seat as they pulled up, it was the first time in years she heard the deep chuckle that came from Thomas. The woman paused as she looked over at him, the sound making her heart and stomach flutter. "You wait right here, we are gonna surprise me." Thomas gave her the first smile she's seen. "Okay." She nodded. Still basking in the radiance of his smile. There was always something about the rare smile that made it so much better then a smile from someone who did it constantly.

Thomas and Johnny got out off the car, holding the door open for her to get out as well. She leaned back against the car, her arms folded as she looked at the two men walk inside.

"Oi, Johnny where's your new girl?" Arthur asked teasingly as they walked inside. Thomas having his hands in his pockets, his cool eyes looking over his brothers. "About that...it will probably be best if you come outside." Thomas said with a sigh as he took one hand out of his pocket, flicking his cigarette away.

John and Arthur shared a uncertainty look but they followed them out. "Hello Arth, Johnnycakes." Elvaira called from where she was leaning. Arthur paused as he looked at their old friend. John however wasted no time as he moved quickly towards her, grabbing her arm to pull her to him. "Elv." He whispered softly as he held onto her, her arms looping around his waist.

Elvaira felt a sense of security in his arms, the familiarity of the way his hands gripped her sides, his face against the curve of her neck, just like before he left. Thomas was watching before he decided that was long enough. "Let her breath John." He stared as he looked at them. John finally loosening his hold as Arthur walked over.

The older man gently placed his hand on her cheek, almost like he was making sure she was real, that she was right there and not a figment of his mind. "You're just as pretty as the day we left." He complimented her, making her blush. John and Arthur were still close to the same as when she last seen them. "You are too kind." She wrapped her arms around his neck as she went on her toes. His arms looping around her.

Arthur had missed her, the two were so close when they were young and now she was back. He was worried about her coming back, being a part of what they are. Her being with the Peaky Blinders.

Thomas felt jealous with how her and his brothers clung to each other, but he held her the same way when he saw her for the first time again, but Thomas and Elvaira were different, once upon a time as lovers.

"I'm many things Elva, but kind is far from one." Arthur chuckled as he loosened his hold on her. The young woman looking at him with gentle eyes. "No matter what you are one of my kind Shelby boys. No matter the blood that stains your hands " As she said that she glanced towards Thomas.

Once Arthur had stepped away she found herself moving to stand by Thomas's side, the two leaning into each other without really noticing it. The two still deep down hopelessly in love even if they can't notice even if it seems impossible to return to what they were.

But what will come about with a new woman arriving in town a week after Elvaira has shown, a beautiful blonde woman called Grace...
