Summer Break (Hayes Grier fanfic)

Mackenzie POV
I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off, I woke up Sarah after I got up and did my business. We got ready which I had on something comfortable, a t-shirt and some tights with my white converse and Sarah just stayed in her pajamas,well she changed shorts so she would look somewhat decent. I grabbed my phone and luggage and went down stairs to see my mom making breakfast. When she was done we all ate and then it was time to leave. When we got to the airport the intercom said my flight , I gave Sarah the biggest bear hug I could give and whispered in her ear that maybe she could come down and visit. I gave my mom a big hug and a kiss on the cheek and of course her and Sarah started to cry which made me have tears strolling down my check but I wiped them away when the intercom said my flight again so I said goodbye to my mom and Sarah and gave them one last hug and then walked to my flight. I put my luggage up and I sat down by the window and put my earphones in and looked out the window and then we were off. I pulled out my book and started to read. After about 2 hours of reading my book or me on my phone I started to get sleepy so I shut my eyes.

Few hours later
I woke up to the flight attendant lightly shaking me. "Sweetie time to wake up we have landed." I got my luggage and said thank you to the nice flight attendant and then I was off the plane. I was standing in the middle of the airport as I heard my name being yelled "MACKENZIE, MACKENZIE, MACKENZIE," I turned around and there my dad was standing with his arms opened for a hug. Even though I may still be a little mad at him I've missed him, I ran up to him and gave him a big hug.

Once we were done with our hug we headed to his car, he put my things in his trunk while I got in the car. "Hollie can't wait to finally meet you, she is so excited," he exclaimed. As we were driving to his house he told me  all about Hollie or the things that I should know. From what he told me she seemed like a good  woman for dad.

We finally arrived at the house, I got out while dad got my bags. I followed him inside and there standing was Hollie. She came up to me and gave me a hug which shocked me because i was unsure to hug back but I did to be nice. "Omg Mackenzie it is so nice to finally meet you, your dad talks about you all the time," she squealed. I smiled at her and dad as he put his arm around her. " Who's hungry? Ill start cooking dinner right now,oh and Elizabeth and Johnnie  are coming over with the kids," she said. My dad nodded his head. "Alright Kenzie lets go show you your room." He said.

When we got to my room, dad opened up the door and inside were walls  the color of a pastel blueish color just like they were at my old house. I love it, i told him. Once I was done unpacking half of my clothes and stuff I walked out to my balcony and saw two boys skating in the road. One of the boys looked my age and the other looked older than me. The one that looked my age fell off by trying to do some trick causing me to laugh a little at me.

I guess my laugh was loud because he looked up and smiled. He waved but being the shy person I am I didnt wave back instead just closed my curtains. I walked into the kitchen because I would guess dinner was done by the delicious smell coming from there . "Mackenzie some of our friends are coming over and we would like you to meet them." Dad said. Just then there was a knock on the door and there stood a family of 5. "Hello Johnnie ,hello Elizabeth." Dad greeted them. "Hello David" they both greeted dad  "I would you like to meet my daughter, Mackenzie. Dad introduced me. Hello nice to meet you I said. "I've head a lot of things about you." Elizabeth said. I smiled at her and then looked at the boy who looked familiar. "Mackenzie this is Skylynn, Nash, and Hayes." Elizabeth said. Nice to meet you.

They came in and we started to eat dinner and talk. I could feel someone staring at me so I looked up, it was the boy that i didnt wave back to, the boy I laughed at. I could fill my cheeks heating up so I just looked down smiling thinking in my head why I was trying to embarrass myself. After dinner we all went and sat on the couches in the living room. "So Mackenzie I hear you play volleyball," Elizabeth said. Yes ma'am I really enjoy playing it. "Well maybe one day you'll have to come down to the lake and play on the beach with Hayes and Nash ," Elizabeth said. For sure, that sounds like fun. I smiled at her.

Later the grown ups went in the back yard and talked while the kids stayed inside and was watching a movie. "Let's watch frozen!" Skylynn said all excited. "Come on Skylynn we've already watched it like a thousand times in the past 2 days." Hayes said. "It wont hurt you to watch it one more time" Skylynn told Hayes with sass. Me and Nash just busted out laughing. I put in frozen and went and sat down by Hayes and Skylynn. "What's your name again?" Skylynn asked. Mackenzie. "Oh it's that ok if I call you Kenzie?" Yes, is it ok if I call you Sky? I nodded my head. "I like you Kenzie" Sky said.  Well thank you Sky, I like you too.

After the movie was done Sky and Nash were sleeping,so me and Hayes just talked about our lives and before you knew it was time for them to go home. Elizabeth came and got Sky from my lap which made her wake up a little but she fell back asleep. Hayes got up and woke up Nash then went to the door as I followed. "Before I go home can I have your number?" Hayes asked in shyness. I nodded my head and smiled. He gave his phone and I put my number in with my name as Kenzie:) and he put his name as Hayes:) just to keep it simple. As we finished we heard Nash yell out of the car for Hayes to hurry up because he was tired.

I shut the door and went to the kitchen to see if I could help clean up but it looked like Hollie had already handled it,so I went into the living room to see that my dad was already pasted out. I laughed a little and got a blanket that was close and covered him up, I whispered good night and headed up to my room.

As I got to my room my phone lit up Hayes:) sent you a message I slid open my phone to respond
Hayes:): Hey Kenzie, I was wondering if you would be free to hang out tomorrow at the lake?
Kenzie: yeah I'm free I would like that:) I'll see you tomorrow then.
Hayes:): ok see ya tomorrow goodnight Kenzie❤️
As I read the message I noticed the heart at the end. I couldn't help but smile, I do have to admit Hayes is fine looking. I replied with (goodnight Hayes❤️) and with that I fell asleep.
