Chapter One: Ben's Proclamation

Once upon a time...
Long, long ago...
Well, more like twenty years ago...
Belle married Adam in front of six-thousand of their closest personal friends.
Big cake.
Yeah, so instead of a honeymoon, Adam United all the kingdoms and got himself elected king of the United States of Auradon. He rounded up all of the villains and sidekicks, basically the interesting people, and booted them off to the Isle of the Lost with a magical barrier to keep them there.
This is my hood. No magic. No WI-FI. No way out.
Or so I thought.
Hang on! You're about to meet us. But first this happened.

AURADON PREP

THIRD PERSON P.O.V

Prince Benjamin, better known as Ben, was staring out the window looking at the Isle of the Lost with an unreadable expression as Lumiere was doing the measurements for his suit for the upcoming coronation.

"Sleeve, head." Lumiere said as Queen Belle and King Adam walked into his chambers. Ben went to step off the platform, but stopped as Lumiere scolded him.

"How is it possible that you're going to be crowned King next month? You're just a baby." Adam commented, thinking it was crazy how fast his son is growing up.

"He's turning sixteen, dear." Belle scolded as she cascaded down to collect a discarded coat of the table.

"Hey, pops." The formative teen watched the childish steadfastness of his father with amusement.

"That's still far too young to be crowned king. I didn't make a good decision until I was atleast forty two!"

Belle had stationed the clothes on top of the chest, before scoffing as she heard her husbands comment and turns towards him. "Didn't you decide to marry me at Twenty eight?"

"It was either you or the teapot." King Adam joked as he sent a wink to his son.

He quickly said, "kidding." After seeing the look Belle had given him.

"Mom, Dad." Ben started to say again, forgetting he was in the stole he went to step off when Lumiere stopped him.

"Ah! Mmm-mmm." He exclaimed, pointing at Ben to stay still and Ben stayed in the platform.

"I've decided what my first proclamation as King is going to be." Ben continued.

His parents shared a look with each other, and abit shocked that he has made his first decision as becoming king.

"I've decided that the children of Isle of the Lost should be given a chance to live here...in Auradon." Ben stood tall with a direct stare of defiance to his father.

"Huh" Belle dropped the jacket what she was holding onto the floor.

"Uh." King Adam placed his hands into his pockets as he stood.

"Every time I look out to the island, I feel like they've been abandoned." Ben stepped off the platform, walking to stand in front of his parents.

"The children of our sworn enemies? Living among us?" His father asked in disbelief.

"We start out with a few at first, only ones who need our help the most. I've already chosen them." Ben stated with a tight-lipped smile.

His mother nodded along, seeming more okay with this decision than his father was.

"Have you?" His father asked. It was obvious that he was getting angry by the tone of his voice.

Belle looks up at her husband lovingly putting a hand on his arm.

"I gave you a second chance. Who are their parents?" She said before looking at Ben with a curious look.

"Cruella De Vill, Jafar, Evil Queen." He pauses before saying the last one, afraid of his parents reaction. "Maleficent." He finished, taking a deep breath waiting for his parents reactions.

Lumiere screams as he hears Maleficent's name

"Maleficent!? She is the worst villain in the land?" King Adam yells at his son.

"Dad, just hear me out here.." Ben looks at his dad with a pleading expression.

"I won't hear if it! They are guilty of unspeakable crimes!" Adam added.

"Dad! Their children are innocent. Don't they deserve a shot at a normal life?" Ben pleaded with his father.

King Adam was silent as he thought about this, he glanced at his wife, who nodded at him.

He sighs before saying. "I suppose that their children are innocent."

Ben looked at his father with a surprised expression then he smiles. Belle walks over to him, patting him in the shoulder and smiles at him.

"Well done." Belle said as she fixed Ben's blazer before walking over to her husband then holding onto her husbands arm as they walked out of the chamber.
