Chapter 2

"Italics..." = thought

Xiaotong's pov

The next day comes and I wake up really early, like very very early. Today I woke up at 5 even though class started at 9. After showering and doing my morning routine, I go to Shancai's house to help her icing the cake for Li Zhen's birthday.

After an hour or so, we finished the cake. We design the cake with white cream and add some flower to it to make it more presentable. And right now, I'm waiting for Shancai to finish her morning routine so that we can to school together to celebrate Li Zhen's birthday.

A few minutes later Shancai finally came out and we rode our bikes to school as usual. We decided to meet up with Li Zhen at a school area where students like to hang out or just relax. (I don't know how to describe this so don't come at me)

"Li Zhen, over here" Shancai shouts while waving her hand. After that I see Li Zhen run toward us while also waving her hand. "Xiaotong, Shancai, why are you calling me here?" Li Zhen asked. "Silly girl, are you really forgetting your own birthday?" I said "yeah, and we also make you a cake" Shancai said and gestured to me to show Li Zhen the cake. "Ta da" she said.

Li Zhen looked a bit surprised and said "wow thanks guys, you really don't have to but can you take a picture for me" she handed Shancai her phone. "Sure, but there are many people here, should we find somewhere else?" Shancai reply

"Right..., then follow me I know just a place" Li Zhen said. She leads us to a quiet staircase which only a few people pass by now and then. Other than that it's pretty empty, so we can take a good picture there. The girls start finding a good lighting while I stand with my back on the wall, losing in my own world.

I was then brought back to reality by Shancai shouting quite loud. "Alright, that's good but how about going back a few steps" Li Zhen listens to Shancai's instruction, walking back a few steps without notice that there is no more space left, however, not for me, I notice it, but kinda too late.

Third person's POV

Xiaotong notices that Li Zhen is about to fall over the stairs so she shouts "be careful!!". Even though she managed to catch Li Zhen's hand before she could fall, the cake already sent flying toward a person that just climbed up the stairs and the person turned out to be none other than the one and only Daoming Si.

Seeing that the bob hair girl quickly went over to her friends and apologizing and checking if they were hurt anywhere. "We are fine, Shancai." Xiaotong assured her friend. The two other girls assure the short hair girl and when they turn around, they were shocked to see who got hit by the cake. "You again!" Daoming Si said. This made one of the girls really scared so she began to apologize. "I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to do that" but that made the guy even angrier "If apologize work, why do we need police" he said

"Then let me help you clean up" Li Zhen said shakily while making her way toward him. When she arrived near him, Daoming Si pushed her away, making her two friends run to her in a hurry while the three other guys stayed quiet watching the scene. "Are you OK?" Xiaotong asks Li Zhen, and Shancai makes her way to confront the guy.

"She said she didn't mean it, and she already apologized to you, didn't she? Why are you being so mean" Shancai said toward him and only received a glare back. She wanted to continue but her mouth couldn't seem to open. Seeing that Xiaktong took over.

"You're so arrogant, wearing green shoes, having a pineapple head." Xiaotong said walking up to him and pulling Shancai behind her "You think you're the most popular in school, you can do whatever you want, and you didn't even apologize for breaking her phone, you are such a jerk!" She continued then began to walk back to her friends without looking back and she also pulled Shancai with her.
