Chapter 7

*Previously

After that both of us walk out toward the school gate to go home, but we were stopped by two men wearing black in front of a black luxurious car.

*Present

"Hello, Miss Dong and Miss Xui. Mr Daoming Si want you both to get in the car." one of the men said. "Why should we do that?" Shancai asked. "He said that he want to see you. he would like to pay for your phone and apologize for what happened." another man responded. This make Shancai look at both men suspiciously. "Are you kidding?" she questioned, making the men turn to look at each other, chuckle and say, "Well, Miss. If you want to know whether we are kidding or not, please get in the car."

Both of us glanced at each other and I noticed that my best friend beside me want to follow them. So, as a good friend I am, I quickly said, "We're very sorry, but we are in a hurry right now." (Well, it's not only for her own good, but also myself.) And without waiting for the men to say anything else, I grabbed Shancai's arm and drag her away in a fast pace.

As we got a little far from the two men, I slowed down and turn to my friend who look really dumb found and could graph the situation. "Were you seriously thinking of going with them?" I questioned her in an almost disappointed tone. Hearing my voice, she hesitated to nods her head but still did it anyway. I was about to give her a scolding lecture, but she cut me off by starting to defend herself. "Well, I just want an apology from that rude man and get some compensation for my phone."

I sweat drop at her respond. I uttered a long sigh then grabbed her shoulders and said, "He just want to mess with you. That man would never apologize to anyone." "How do you know that?" Her question caught me off guard which made me stutter a little. "U-uh-uhm, th-that is because I have been observing him" "Yeah, observing him." I repeated.

Shancai then gave me a suspicious look and seemed to want to say something more to me, but this time, I interrupted her by changing the topic. "Let's hurry back home or your mom will scold us." After that, I walked away before her without knowing that I'll regret it later.

Few minutes later, I felt that the walk was quiet than usual. Normally, Shancai would have something to say nonstop until we get home or she would scold me for starting to walk away without waiting for her. I then turn around to look for her, and to my worse nightmare, she was nowhere to be seen in the area.

I tried to call her several time but each time she just hung up on me. "Did she follow those men to his mansion?" I whispered to myself. 'Oh my god, Xiaotong. Why didn't you drag her with you?' I scolded myself while hitting my own head, not too hard.

I ran back as fast as I could to where the two men were, hoping for them to still be there, but to my unfortunate, they were already gone. I tried to call Shancai's phone again and just like last time she hung up. I'm not sure if she was the one who hung up the phone or somebody else did, and I don't care about it anymore.

I was nervous of what he would do to my innocent best friend, so I hurriedly call for a taxi to go to his place. Even though I went there last time, I didn't really remember the way clearly. And I think luck is not on my side today as I kept telling the driver the wrong roads. It took me almost an hour to reach there even if the ride was supposed to be only 20 minutes or so. As soon as I got there, I quickly jump out of the taxi and hand the driver the money, then sprint toward the mansion's gate.

Luck was really get on my nerve today as when I got to the gate, I was stopped by the security. I practically have to beg him for about 5 minutes for him to let me in. As soon as the gate was opened, I ran inside without the care in the world. I just want to see if my best friend was okay. In the middle of the way, I saw Shancai running out of the mansion bare foot, so I quickly went to her. "Caicai, are you alright? Did he do anything to you?" I asked her worriedly but she just stood there without saying anything.

"Caicai.....Caicai....DONG SHANCAI!" I said loudly while shaking her lightly, causing her to now look at me. "Are you Alright?" I asked again and this time she nodded her head. Seeing my friend like this really broke my heart, so I quickly gave my spare shoes, that I was "accidentally" brought with me, to her without noticing that all these actions were saw by a particular someone.

After that, I called for a taxi and we both went back home. The ride home was simply just silent which made me extremely worried about her. I glanced at Shancai from time to time to see that she mostly looked down without saying anything. I tried to start a conversation with her, but she just responded to me sometimes which I just shut up after.

About 30 minutes, we got home and she just went to her house without letting out a single word to me. I was hurt, of course, but I respect her privacy. If she doesn't want to tell me, then I won't force her to tell me. Therefore, I also went into my own house, hoping that it will be all okay the next day.

[The next day]

*Shancai's pov

I couldn't get a wink of sleep last night because of what happened. I'm really tired, but I have class this morning; therefore, I force myself to get up and get ready. Normally, I would go to Xiaotong's house and wait for her so that we can go to to school together; however, after what Daoming Si said to me yesterday, I decided to go to school before her.

I knew that she would be worried about me, but I needed some space to think and get myself together again after what happened. As I arrived at school, I immediately went to my class in silence.

*Xiaotong's pov

Today is really odd. Usually, Shancai would come to my house and call for me, but this time I haven't seen her at all. I even went to her house, but her mother told me that she had already left to school. I was a bit shock and hurt, but I just brush the feeling off and made my way to the university because I don't want to be late.

When I finally got to school, I still had 15 minutes left before class, so i decided to go look for Shancai around the school area.

I think god really hate me for these past few days as I kept on getting into the situations that I wanted to avoid most. And today is the same, I got into that kind of situation again which I accidentally bump into a person or a group of people who turned out to be the infamous F4. At the moment, I forgot about my avoidance of them as I wanted to check on Shancai as fast as I could. Therefore, I quickly bow down a little, let out a small apology and about to walk away, but I was pulled back in my place which make me stumble a little.

"What the..!" I uttered quietly. "Where do you think you're going?" The guy who pulled me asked.
