General Information

Full Name: Androw Lawrence Xavier
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Height: 6'1"
Affiliation: Royal Navy of the Kodia Kingdom, Black Fleet
Rank: Admiral
Likes: To be out at sea, being more hands on in his duties as Admiral, people who like him for who he is, the thrill of the fight, seeing justice be done, setting good examples for his men to follow, seeing the world while in the line of duty.
Dislikes: Corrupt officials, criminals (that includes pirates), leeches (proverbial ones), snobby nobles, dishonorable fighters, booze (he prefers to stay sober), arrogance, tasks not being done, hazing rituals, rule breakers, traitors.

Fighting Capabilities

Swordsmanship: He was trained from a young age in swordplay, as he is the first born in the family, meaning that he would inherit the Black Sword.

Hand-to-hand: He was also trained in hand-to-hand combat when he was a midshipman, in the event that he's in a situation where he can't use his sword. He is reputed during the Kodian-Lodelian War to have had a mean knuckle sandwich.

Knife fighting: He had also received knife fighting training from the head butler of the Xavier estate, for situations that require a short blade in order to combat enemies in small spaces.

Firearms proficiency: He was also trained to use pistols and rifles in the Royal Navy. Even after being promoted to Admiral within the Black Fleet, he is still a pretty good shot.

Armaments

Black Sword: Admiral Xavier's primary weapon. A black-bladed sword that is passed down throughout the family as an heirloom for those who enter into military service. It is also a mystical weapon whose blade never dulls and always remains sharp. The source of this mystic endurance and longevity is a closely-guarded secret within the Xavier family.

☆ Naval Pistol: A .455 caliber semi-automatic pistol(1) that was recently adopted by the Kodian Royal Navy as a replacement for the older naval revolver. Six-round detachable box magazines.

☆ Manstopper revolver(2): If the Admiral needed a little more stopping power to take down an enemy, he'd look no further than the Manstopper, a break-open revolver chambered for a very large .577 caliber cartridge. He bought himself one of these guns, plus ammo, in the event that the standard .455 caliber small arms aren't enough to take down enemy personnel at close range. Five-round cylinder.

☆ Knife: When the Admiral needs a lighter blade for taking someone out at close quarters, especially in spaces too tight for the Black Sword, he's always got a trusty steel knife at the ready.

Rifle(3): A straight-pull camming action rifle issued to the Royal Navy as part of a small arms modernization initiative. It has a 5-round internal magazine, and is chambered for a new high-velocity 6mm cartridge. It can also accommodate a bayonet.

Bayonet: A bayonet with an overall length of 16.5 inches, with the blade measuring 10 inches. Can be equipped to the 6mm rifle.

Background

Androw Lawrence Xavier was born in the Kingdom of Kodia to the Xavier family, which has a prestigious military background in the Royal Navy. It is tradition in the Xavier family for the men to join the Navy when they come of age, and fight for the kingdom and its interests. As the first-born, he was trained to inherit the heirloom Black Sword, a black-bladed weapon with the mystical ability to never get dull. When he joined the Royal Navy, he took the Black Sword with him, indeed.

During the war between Kodia and its ancient political enemy, the Lodel Empire, Xavier distinguished himself for his courage, ferocity in combat against enemy personnel, and effective leadership in a pinch. Because of his heroic deeds during the war, he was transferred into one of the most elite fleets in the Royal Navy, the Black Fleet, which is said to be nearly impossible for anybody to join. He is stationed aboard the KRS(4) Artemis. He eventually reached the rank of Admiral, one of the youngest to do so.

As an Admiral, he is known for being more hands on, fighting alongside his men, earning him their respect and loyalty. He still does administrative work when it is needed to be done. In fact, he was taught to have an impeccable work ethic by his former superiors in the Royal Navy from before he was put into the Black Fleet.

Whenever he and his crew on the KRS Artemis are on shore leave, he would strictly order them to stay sober as he does, as he believes that a sober crew is an effective crew, and that being drunk is no way to be a good sailor.

NOTES

1. Inspired by the Webley & Scott self-loading pistol
2. Inspired by the Bland-Pryse stopping revolver
3. Inspired by the M1895 Winchester-Lee naval rifle
4. KRS = Kodian Royal Ship, in the vein of the British HMS designation
