Joseph's pov. (Ik I write in his POV all the time but just i love to write in his view)
__________
Once Matthew and I arrive in my room we settle into our activities. Matthew reading and I sketching. We stay silent for a good bit before Matthew begins to speak.
"I plan to go back home on the twentieth until the twenty-seventh. I was wondering if you would like to come with"
"In England?"
"Yes, where else?"
I chuckle at this and nod.
" I would love to. But shouldn't you be inviting your fiance? You hardly spend time with her. Nearly all of your visit you have been holed up in here with me."
"Yes. I probably should but I'm not sure she likes me much."
"She doesn't dislike you she just dislikes the marriage."
"I wouldn't either." He says.
We go quiet for a few then he goes back to talking about me visiting England with him. We talk for a good 40 or so minutes before we are interrupted by a knock.
"Come in," I tell the person behind the door. The door slides and Ave walks in.
"Good morning~," Ave says holding the g on the morning.
"Morning. Do you need something?"
"Nope just bored. Sky's busy cleaning and I am waiting for a letter from June."
"Who's June?" Asks Matthew.
"June's Avelyns best friend from France, I believe she's a dancer in the ballet there."
"She is. They are doing the Nutcracker this year, we should all go!"
"When is it? Me and Matthew are going to England from the 20th to the 27th"
"Great! I have tickets for the 17th. We can go to France on the 16th and be back on the 18th!"
"It's Alright. Is that all?" I ask trying not to show that I want her out of my room. While she is not the worst, she is hyper and she's not the best at controlling her volume.
"Can I just stay in Here? There's nothing to do today." I try not to roll my eyes at this. Nothing to do? We live in a castle. we have a library with millions of books and over 100 other people she could bother.
"I don't mind," Matthew whispers to me.
"Sure," I say to her hesitantly.
"Yayy!! So what are we doing in here??"
"Well, I'm trying to sketch a portrait and Matthew is reading I believe."
"Ooh let me see!!" (This is where I left off)
"No, it's not finished," I remark before the paper is snatched from my hands.
"Ooh, is this Matthew?" She asks, displaying the paper and pointing to the face on it.
"Yes, it is," I reply and stand to retrieve the paper from her hands.
With this, she rolls her eyes, walks to the vanity by the window, and sits facing us.
"Will you two accompany me into town?"
"Why? Can't you go alone?" I say, still slightly irritated.
"I can. But it'll be lonely," she says, making a pout. Matthew looks up, chuckles, looks at me, and returns to his book.
"Stop that. You're not five," I retort.
"Ugh. Please come with me. We won't be out long, I just need to go dress shopping."
"You need to go dress shopping?" I chuckle.
"I need a dress for the ball. I'm thinking pink or blue," she says while twirling her hair and looking out the window.
"What about that nice blue one you wore for the parade?"
"No way. That's so out of season. I need a new one," I sigh internally. Lean over to Matthew, and whisper, "Should we?"
"I don't mind."
"You're no help," I giggle.
With this, she turns around. "What are you talking about?"
"None of your business."
"Whatever," she mutters and goes back to admiring the sky in the garden.
"I think we should. There's nothing else to do, plus it's nearly 11 and we haven't left bed," Matthew whispers. I nod and say, "We'll go with you, but we're grabbing lunch at Augustus's."
"Alright, deal," she says and jumps from where she's seated. "Meet me by the door in 10?" I nod, and she leaves the room.
