The university grounds were buzzing with excitement on the day of the highly anticipated basketball match. I had asked Lisa, my friend, to meet me in the stands after I wished Kabir good luck. As I navigated through the growing crowd, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation.
The university basketball court came into view, and there stood Kabir, warming up with his team. Confidence radiated from him, and seeing him in his element filled me with pride and a touch of nervousness. Lisa waved at me from the stands, her eyes already locked onto the court.
Kabir noticed me approaching, and his face lit up with a confident smile. My heart skipped a beat as I moved closer to him.
"Hey, Kiara," Kabir greeted me warmly, his voice filled with genuine happiness. "Thanks for coming. Your presence is my lucky charm."
His words made my cheeks flush, and I couldn't help but smile back. "Of course, Kabir. I wouldn't miss it for the world. Good luck out there!"
Before I could react, Kabir leaned in and kissed me. It was a quick yet electrifying kiss that left me momentarily breathless. The world seemed to fade away, and it was just the two of us.
Kabir pulled away, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "There, that's my good luck kiss. Now, I'm ready to win this game."
My cheeks turned an even deeper shade of pink, and I felt a bit flustered by the sudden display of affection. "You better win, Captain," I teased, my voice barely above a whisper.
Kabir winked at me and rejoined his team, leaving me with a racing heart. As I watched him take his position on the court, it was impossible not to cheer for him with all my heart.
The basketball match was intense, with both teams giving their all. Aryan, the opposing captain and Kabir's cousin, was a formidable opponent. But Kabir's team showed great resilience, keeping the score close. The tension in the air was palpable as the game unfolded.
As the final seconds of the match approached, Kabir's team managed to secure a last-minute lead. The university basketball court was filled with cheers as the buzzer sounded, signaling their victory. I couldn't be prouder of Kabir.
I made my way to the court, where Kabir was surrounded by his teammates and friends. Kabir, his face beaming with happiness, noticed me and made his way through the crowd towards me.
"We did it, Kiara! We won!" he exclaimed, his eyes shining with joy.
I hugged him tightly, sharing in his triumph. "I knew you could do it, Kabir. Congratulations!"
After the celebrations had died down a bit, Kabir took my hand and led me to the center of the university basketball court. The court was still filled with excitement, and it felt like the perfect moment.
Kabir turned to face me, and the university basketball court seemed to fall into a hushed silence, the world around us fading away.
"Kiara," Kabir began, his voice filled with emotion and determination, "from the moment I met you, my life changed in ways I couldn't have imagined. You've become someone I can't imagine living without."
My heart raced as I hung on to his every word. The sincerity and vulnerability in his eyes were captivating.
"I've fallen for you, Kiara, harder than I've ever fallen for anyone before," Kabir continued, his voice soft but filled with conviction. "You've not only stolen my heart but also become my best friend, my confidant, and my greatest source of happiness."
A hushed silence lingered on the university basketball court as Kabir's heartfelt confession hung in the air. All eyes were on us, and it felt like it was just him and me in that moment.
Kabir took a step closer, closing the distance between us, and I could see the depth of his feelings in his gaze. "Kiara Mehra, will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my girlfriend?"
My heart swelled with emotion, and tears welled up in my eyes. The moment was surreal, and I knew that my feelings for Kabir were just as strong. I found my voice, my response filled with love and joy.
"Yes, Kabir. I'd love to be your girlfriend," I replied, my voice carrying through the university basketball court.
The court erupted into cheers and applause, and I could see smiles on the faces of our friends and classmates. Kabir beamed with happiness, and he gently took my hand.
But just as we were about to share another kiss, Aryan's voice cut through the cheers, his anger and jealousy evident in his words. "What the hell is this? You two are a couple now?"
Kabir held me close, his voice firm as he faced Aryan. "Yeah, we are. Kiara and I care about each other, Aryan. You need to accept that."
Aryan's face turned even redder with anger, and he couldn't hide his frustration and jealousy any longer. His voice dripped with sarcasm and bitterness as he muttered, "Well, isn't this a fairytale ending?"
Tensions flared on the university basketball court, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of worry. Maybe my presence had irreparably strained the relationship between the two cousins, and it weighed heavily on my heart. I hoped that they could resolve their differences and maintain their bond.
The argument between Kabir and Aryan grew louder, drawing the attention of everyone around us. The university basketball court was now filled with tension, and I wished that this confrontation could end without any more conflict.
Kabir's patience wore thin as he confronted Aryan. "Aryan, it's time to accept that Kiara and I have something special. I won't let anyone stand in the way of our happiness."
Aryan's face contorted with rage as he clenched his fists. "You think you're so perfect, don't you? Always the golden boy. Well, not anymore."
The argument escalated, and it looked like a physical confrontation was imminent. The tension was unbearable as the crowd watched the cousins go head-to-head.
But just as the situation reached its breaking point, the coach and some teammates stepped in to separate Kabir and Aryan. The university basketball court fell into an uneasy silence as the two cousins were held back, their anger simmering beneath the surface.
Kabir turned back to me, his eyes filled with love and determination. "Kiara, I won't let anything or anyone come between us. I promise to make you the happiest girl in the world."
I smiled back at him, feeling like the luckiest girl alive. "I believe you, Kabir."
Though I had a feeling that maybe because of me these cousins might fall apart. I hope whatever Aryan is angry about, he just becomes normal with time.
