\\Henry's POV//

I drove her to my house and I did not know what she was planning to do. I was kind of scared, cause she loves to almost die every time she tries to do something good. She walked in and I could say she was feeling uneasy.

"Can I have the case file?" she asked,

"You are not going to do anything" I said firmly cause I did not want her to get involved in a murder case. The problem was, she was involved in this immensely now. How do I get her out of this?

"If I don't, then you can't catch him"

"It is my problem, stay out of this. You are staying in the office until I catch him with evidence" I said with all seriousness. She is a skilled idiot. I just want her to stay unhurt.

"You don't tell me what to do, I can do what I want, and I am going to help you catch that murderer whether you like it or not" she argued, I got nothing but annoyed. Why won't she listen to me for once and stay out of trouble? It would be a great help.

"You do know that you could get killed right? Don't joke in a serious situation like this, Hannah."

"I am not" she mumbled weakly with slight regret, "Just tell me more about this case, I promise I won't cause any trouble for you"

"You causing me trouble is not new, but that is not the thing I am worried about."

"If you won't tell me anything, then I am going back and I will try to get him by myself", she said as she got up and started walking to the exit with a moody face. I was seriously pissed, why does she want to willingly go back to the murderer's house? That is pure stupid and a great idea to get herself killed.

"Fine, don't go..." I sighed in defeat as she walked back in with a proud smile as if she won a world record. I sighed and broke down the entire case to her, after I was done, she still looked at me as if I missed something.

"What?" I asked,

"When did you know he was the murderer? I know you knew about that way before I did", she questioned and I laughed awkwardly for a few seconds as I forgot about that.

"Do you remember the night you stayed over and I went out to get groceries?"

"Yes?" she said while lifting up one of her eyebrows, wanting me to continue.

"Well, I may have accidentally caught him while he killed a victim," I said as that scenario replayed in my mind, "I had nothing except pepper spray, I couldn't stand against him who was armed with a knife"

"D-Did you take a photo?" she asked and regret flooded me as no, I didn't. I quickly shook my head in denial and she sighed,

"I called the authorities as soon as I could, but I had to get out of there though. By the time they arrived at the crime scene, all the pieces of evidence were wiped out" I confessed as she thought about something for a few seconds,

"Where is Penelope in all this?"

A doorbell rang and I knew who it was. I got up and opened the door for Penelope to come in, I invited her in to tell me about her investigation's progress.

"It isn't really fair for you two to hang out while I do all the investigations" she complained as I kind of did leave her to do almost all the investigating work. She sat down and threw some files on the table and spared a glance at Hannah,

"Is it fine for her to?"

"She is involved in this" I assured her, as Hannah grew impatient,

"Just start talking" she said and Penelope started,

"You asked me to find the possible victim's list, I made it" Penelope informed as she points on one of her file she just kept on the table as I took a look into it, I was confused how she was confident in her guesses.

"How are you so sure?"

"They all have one thing in common, when they were in highschool, they all had some level of feeling for Hannah. I confirmed this by questioning some of the victim's close friends" she said and I almost cracked up by the direction this case was going in.

"They all what? I thought they were all just friends teasing me. What did they even see in me?" Hannah questioned, and I instantly knew the answer, probably everything about her. She has a personality no one could not notice.

"Anyway, I have to leave, uncle called me to attend a meeting regarding this case" Penelope got up, now which 'uncle' is she refering to?

"My father?" I asked just to confirm my doubt,

"Ofcource, who else? Take care Hannah" she turned to her best friend and waved her hands, Hannah waved back. Penelope walked out in a rush and I was confused whether she was my assistant or I was her assistant. Ain't I supposed to get the call first? Even my own father doesn't realise I exist.

Suddenly my phone rang and I was expecting the call to invite me on a meeting about this murder case, but, I was honestly feeling sick after listening to the caller. The police found nine dead bodies in the woods, buried there atleast a week ago. They told me that the corpses were rotting, but not fully degraded. The kill should have been done way before the body was found unlike the fresh murders before.

It was his previous victims, everyone was brutally murdered in a painful way. First eighteen murders and now nine...adds up to twenty-seven victims. I glanced at Hannah and she was deeply submerged in her thoughts as well.

"He broke into your house and tried to kill you–I should go back." she said and I did not want her to go back to that psycho for whatever the reason was. I don't care if I get killed, I just want her unhurt.

"No."

"If I don't, then he might try to kill you again." She said and I was not angry, I was scared,

"Are you crazy? I don't give a damn if he comes back to kill me! If you go back, he will definitely hurt you, so no, I am not letting you go back" I said firmly as she walked in closer,

"I don't want to be the reason for your death–let me go." she said, she was deeply hurt for some reason. Is she blaming herself for all this? That's stupid.

"No-" I started as she intruded me,

"I have a plan"
