Y/N POV

"Now look what you've done! Got yourself expelled for good this time!"

My mother yelled at me, right after she read the piece of paper that I gave her.

"Nevermore Academy? They think you're a freak..."

I shrugged.

"You're not even gonna defend yourself? You'll just accept being called a freak?"

Y/N: There isn't much I that can do now, is there?

My father kept watching TV, not wanting to cut in and take a side.

"Are you just gonna keep watching your dumb soccer game or are you gonna say something?"

My mother asked him, pissed off by his indifference.

"I'm just gonna keep watching my dumb soccer game."

He responded, not caring about my mother's mental breakdown.

"You're so damn useless! They want to send our boy to Nevermore and you don't even give a shit!"

He shrugged and kept watching.

"Nothing new I guess."

She mumbled.

Y/N: I think I'm going to go now.

"Go where?"

Y/N: Nevermore, where else would I go?

"But your first day is tomorrow?"

Y/N: Doesn't matter, I'll just show up one day earlier and look around a little.

"You can't wait to leave us, can you?"

Y/N: Yeah, that too.

She scoffed as I passed her and went upstairs to get my stuff.

About twenty minutes later I was all set and went back down.

My mother was gone, my dad was still watching his game.

Y/N: Yo dad, you got any idea where Mom is?

Dad: Nah son, I dunno.

Y/N: Alright then, see you around.

Dad: See ya, son. Don't cause too much trouble.

I left the house and went over to my car, putting all my stuff inside before getting behind the wheel.

Nevermore is a long drive away from my home but the road that I'll take is usually empty.

And I was correct, it felt as if I was completely alone out there, no one in sight.

That's what I thought until a cop car pulled up to me and ordered me to stop, which I obviously did.

The cop stopped his car behind mine and got out.

Cop: Hello there, are you alright?

Y/N: Yes, sir. Is something wrong?

Cop: Well, you've been going above the speed limit.

Y/N: Really?

Cop: Yep, that's why I'll have to ask you to get out of the car.

Y/N: Is that necessary?

Cop: Kid, don't make me ask again.

He warned, laying his hand on his pistol.

Y/N: Alright.

I gave in and got out of my car.

Cop: Hands on the hood.

He ordered, I followed his order and did what he wanted.
