Walking through the town hand in hand with Hawk was just the break that Twilight needed. It felt so good to be able to let loose every once in a while.

"So what's our first stop for today, Twily?" Hawk asked her.

"Can we stop by the bookstore first? I want to see if they have anything new since our last visit." Twilight told him.

"Bookstore it is."

They went to Pére Robert's bookstore (Twilight's favorite shop) and browsed the shelves in search of something new to read. Well, Twilight was searching and Hawk was following.

"Wow!" Twilight exclaimed with excitement. "I can't believe they have it." She picked up the book and showed it to Hawk. The book was mostly blue with a picture of a fairy sitting on a crescent moon with the title sitting below it. "The Moon's Wishes, I've been waiting for this for forever, I forgot that it was released a few days ago."

Seeing the sparkle in Twilight's eyes as she looked at the book was enough to make his heart feel like he just ran a marathon. "That's the one you were talk about a few weeks ago, right?"

"Mhm," She nodded excitedly. "I can't wait to read this!"

At this point, Hawk was pretty sure there was something wrong with his heart because there was no way the I-feel-like-I-just-ran-marathon heartbeat was normal when he was just standing there.

'Keep it cool Snow White.' He thought. "Is that all you're getting? Or is there something else that caught your eye?"

Twilight sighed, "As much as I'd love to buy more books, granny says I need to tone down on the 'spending all my money on books.' Now, I can only buy one per week."

Hawk looked at her thoughtfully, "How about I pay for it?"

"Huh?"

The blue haired prince shrugged, "You said you can only buy one book per week, she didn't say anything about me buying you books."

"But, why though?" She asked.

"You've been working really hard, I think you deserve a gift for that," Hawk smiled. "And a congratulations on getting into Regal Academy."

"You don't have to do that though."

"I don't have to but I want to. C'mon Twily, at least let me do this for you."

Getting more than one book for the week was tempting but Hawk's puppy eyes were the ones that pushed her over the edge. "Okay, but I have to pay you back afterwards."

"Twily, gifts aren't supposed to be paid."

"But-"

"No buts," He interrupted. "Now, time for you to pick your books."

Twilight sighed softly but went with it, there was no convincing Hawk otherwise when he's made up his mind. "Thanks, Hawk."

The two fairy tale heroes spent another ten minutes in the bookstore and came out with a paper bag that held the three books Hawk had bought.

By the time they were out, it was almost lunch time so they decided to stop by a restaurant for a quick lunch. After eating they resumed their walking and wandering as if they haven't seen the town before. But, then again, this town was filled with surprises in every corner.

A few hours later they found themselves on the dock, watching the sunset. They've watched the sunset multiple times together but it never failed to make them both smile.

"Did you have fun today?" Hawk asked.

"I always have fun with you." Twilight answered with a smile. "This day was exactly what I needed."

"Y'know, you don't have to force yourself to do everything all the time, right?" The prince said softly. He knew Twilight was capable of many things but he also knew that she was pushing herself past her limits. "You're pushing yourself too much, Twily."

Twilight looked at him and said, "But I have to. Mother and Father are coming home soon and if I don't live up to their expectations when they get back then they're going to be disappointed."

Hawk cupped her cheek softly, "Twily, I've seen you during fairy training, you're amazing! You know every spell by heart, you've memorized the proper wand movements, and proper fairy etiquette, among other things. Don't you think that it's time for you to rest?"

"I just don't want to disappoint them." She said and lowered her eyes.

"You won't, I know you Twilight Godfairy," Hawk told her firmly. "You're the person who gives her best at everything she puts her mind into but you're also the person who doesn't know when to stop. As you're best friend, it's my job to take care of you when you can't do it yourself anymore. Like how you take care of me when I'm running towards danger."

Twilight took a shaky breath, "I don't know what to do anymore." She closed her eyes and rested her head on his shoulder.

He ran his fingers through her hair to help sooth her, "Maybe cut back on some activities and get more sleep."

The fairy sighed, "I'll think about it later." She raised her head off his shoulder and smiled. "For now, let's just enjoy this."

Hawk smiled back and nodded. He moved closer to her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders and rested his head on hers when she rested her head on his shoulder.

If Twilight could have one wish, she'd wish for this moment to last forever. Just her and Hawk.

During lunch hour on Monday, Hawk and Twilight sat in the gazebo of Regal Academy eating the lunch that Twilight made. She cooked them both a healthy meal and baked Hawk his favorite apple desserts as thank you for the books and for being the best best friend anyone could ever ask for.

"I've thought about what you said." Twilight brought up. "I thought about it the whole day yesterday, and you were right. I need to cut back on some activities, so I decided that instead of doing fairy training every night for three hours, I figured I'd just do it every other day for one and a half hours. Like you said, I've memorized the material by heart, so I think I can tone it down on the training."

Hawk smiled at the revelation, "I'm proud of you, Twily. I know adjusting isn't always easy but you're doing amazing."

Twilight hugged him tight, "Thanks for always being here."

He kissed her temple and said, "I'll always be here, Twily. How about we celebrate with that delicious smelling apple pie."

"Hawk Snow White willing to share his apple pie?" Twilight joked. "I never thought I'd see the day."

The prince grinned and shrugged playfully, "Thought I'd be nice to you today. Just for today though."

Twilight rolled her eyes playfully as she placed to a slice of apple pie onto a plate and gave it to him, "You're always nice to me, prince charming."

"Whatever."

The princess laughed and was soon followed by her prince. They spent the entire lunch hour eating, laughing, and teasing each other now that everything was much lighter than it was before.
