Chasing Dreams

Chapter 2

 Lucas gave Nadine a cold stare as Nadine also said, "Jessica said you need to be ready in five minutes". Giselle says, "thanks for letting my husband know". Lucas says, "I'm going to say bye to my girls and then I'll be there". Nadine nods and walks away as Lucas turns back to Giselle who says, "baby it's clear she wants you". Lucas says, "sweetheart, you have me! All of me!". Giselle says, "I know I do but still I don't trust her so please just be careful". He kisses her saying, "I always am". He takes her hand saying, "I have to go now, my sexy girl". Giselle says, "I love you". Chloe says, "daddy!". Lucas looks at Chloe before bending down as Chloe gives him a kiss on the cheek and gives him a hug saying, "Good luck daddy". Lucas says, "you be a good girl for mommy". Chloe says, "I made you another drawing with mommy, you and me". Lucas says, "I will keep this with me always, Princess". Chloe says, "I love you daddy". Lucas says, "I love you more Chloe". Jessica screams out, "LUCAS, GET YOUR BUTT ON STAGE NOW!". Lucas says, "I have to go... I love you both to the stars and moon". Lucas runs as Giselle says, "we love you more to the sun and sky!". They leave as the concert begins with the crowd going wild for the band; elsewhere it was heavily raining as Giselle was in the car with Chloe who asks, "mommy can we stop over for some ice-cream please?". Giselle replies, "I will give you some when we get home, baby girl". However soon there was a loud crash as the car flipped over. A crowd soon gathered around as paramedics rushed to the scene while Lucas was still in his concert about to finish up. Lucas says, "thank you Canada, you've been epic!". The fans scream with delight as soon backstage Theo, Jessica, Melissa, Harry are with two officers. Lucas comes there asking, "what's up?". Jessica says, "they are here to see you, Lucas". The atmosphere was tense and frosty as Lucas asked, "what's going on, officers?". The officer says, "Lucas Harrison?". Lucas nods as the officer says, "Mr Harrison, I am very sorry to inform you that your wife Giselle was in a car accident this evening". Lucas was taken back with shock saying, "what?! Is she ok?". The officer says, "we regret to inform you that Mrs Harrison passed away at the scene". Lucas screams, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!". He breaks down as the officers offer their apologies and sympathy in the matter. Lucas says, "my baby girl, Chloe?". 

The officer replies, "she's been taken to hospital". Lucas asks, "what caused the accident, officer?". The officer replies, "a drunk driver swerved, and the car was hit against a lorry before flipping over". Lucas screamed again before soon rushing over to the hospital to find Chloe in the ICU wearing an oxygen mask, unconscious and bruises on her face. Lucas thinks, 'my baby girl should be awake and playing not fighting for her life'. He raises his hand to pray saying, "she's only four and so tiny... please just make her better...". Lucas has tears in his eyes as he places a gentle hand on his daughter's head saying, "you will fight this, it's you and me now Princess... I promise we will get through this.... don't leave me too". A few days later it is Giselle's funeral as Lucas placed a white rose on her grave. He says, "baby this pain is unbearable, it's like I cannot breathe without you... how can I look after Chloe without you?". Lucas remembered Chloe's state in the hospital and remembered a promise from Giselle a few years ago in which if anything happened to her then he would take care of Chloe. Lucas breaks down and removes his wedding ring and places it on the grave saying, "I miss you like crazy, Giselle but I know you will be at peace". Lucas leaves unaware that a ghost Giselle watches him with a tearful smile before ascending to the heavens above. (End of flashback) Back in the present Lucas was lost in his thoughts as Theo came over saying, "you can't keep doing this, Lucas! The alcohol, fights, what have you taken? Drugs? Chloe needs you; we all do! Jessica managed to clear the situation up, she's also cancelled the tour... we are going home and for now just smaller gigs". Lucas says tearfully, "I just can't do it, Theo... I can't do it without her". 

Theo says, "Chloe needs you; you have to! Giselle wouldn't have wanted to see you like this... Chloe's lost her mammy; she can't lose her daddy!". Lucas says, "she's better off without me". Theo angrily says, "that's bullshit, and you know it!! Chloe can't live with my sister forever, she needs you". Theo again mentions Giselle as he angrily says, "DON'T MENTION HER NAME!!". Lucas angrily punches Theo as he punches Lucas back saying, "SORT YOUR SHIT OUT, MAN! BEFORE YOU LOSE EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING!". Lucas angrily replied, "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?! I'VE ALREADY LOST EVERYTHING!! GISELLE WAS MY SOULMATE, THE OTHER PIECE OF MY SOUL, BREATH AND EVERYTHING!!". Lucas drops to the ground and breaks down emotionally as Theo gives him a hug reassuring him that he's not alone. Elsewhere a reporter gives update on the news about Lucas's band cancelled tours along with brief information about Lucas's wife demise and his emotional mental state.
