chapter eleven

Jason drops me a few blocks from Cressida's new house. I don't know why but I'm nervous to see her. Mostly to ask her why she didn't tell me or why she left. We always tell each other everything. Well, I mostly have nothing to tell I just listen, but her not telling me she's gonna leave kind of hurt me. I'm happy that she's starting to be independent and having her own life. She always wanted to have that. Wish I could do that too. 

I knock on the door and a man opens the door a few moments later. He looks like he's older than me and Cressida and is very tall. He has strawberry blond hair and dark eyes. I noticed some tattoos on his neck too. He smiles at me and steps aside. "Hey, I'm Cameron." He says when I'm inside. "I'm Talisha," I say as I shake his hand. "She is in the living room. It's at the end of the hallway to your right." He says and I nod my head. 

I walk in the direction he told me and before I open the door I knock. Cressida looks up at me with a big smile on her face. I've seen her smile tons of times but this one looks different. This one looks real, compared to the others."Hey, sit down." She says as she pats the seat next to her on the sofa. I sit down and hug her. "How are you," I ask her and she just shrugs. "I'm doing amazing." She says. I nod and look down. "Who's that Cameron dude that opened the door?" I ask. I look at her and her eyes shine a bit as I mention his name.

 "He's my boyfriend. We met a while ago but Dad doesn't let any of us date so I couldn't tell anyone." She says. I understand her, I can't tell anyone about Jason. Not only is he our enemy but I'm not supposed to date or whatever he and I are. "Tell me how did you guys meet?" I ask her. "Well after training I always go for a run and I bumped into him one day. He told me his name was Cameron and he was honored to meet his boss's daughter. He gave me his number and we texted and went on secret dates. It is truly amazing to have something normal." She says and I nod my head. "When I'm with him I don't have to be the future heir, I can be just me and he won't judge or look weird at me." 

I looked at my sister and didn't realize how strong she was. I've never seen her cry, she is always there for everyone and never complains. "Is that why you moved out? Cause you wanted to be normal once in a while?" I ask her and she nods. Tell her. Tell her about Jason and everything that has happened. What if she judges me? If she judges you for falling for someone, even though she might not like it, that's her problem. You're kind of smart. Shut the fuck up and tell instead of talking to yourself. "I have something to tell you," I say and Cressida looks up. "What's up little one." She says.

 I take a deep breath in and out. "I met a guy and we've been fooling around but I don't know if he likes me," I tell her. "You? You have been fooling around? With a guy?" She asks and I nod my head. "Oh my days, that's awesome. That means there's still a chance of me becoming an aunt one day." She says in an exciting tone. "You know you have a brother right?" I ask and she nods. "But then we're part of the dad's side and it doesn't sound nice." She says and it makes me laugh.

 "So who is the lucky guy? How old is he? Does he have a job? What is his job?" Cressida drops question after question. "His name is Jason. He is twenty-two years old, so one year older than you. And yes he has a job." I tell her. "What is his Job Telisha?" She asks looking at me like she's suspicious. "Promise not to get angry," I say, and we pinky promise. "He'sthefrenchmafiaheir," I say fast. "Slow down and tell me." She says. "He's the French mafia leader," I say and my sister's eyes grow wide. "Dad is gonna kill you." She says and I nod. "I know."  

"Okay but let's not think about him." She says. "Do you like him?" She asks and I nod my head. "Do you want to be with him?" She asks and again I nod my head. "Forget what dad is gonna think and seek your happiness. Dad is not the one being depressed if you live the life he wants you to." Cressida tells me. "I know but I don't know if he likes me," I say. "Just talk to him and if he doesn't he's  an idiotic fool and Dad will kill him." 

"I'm just scared. This is the first time a guy has shown me this kind of attention and I'm afraid to lose it." I say. "Listen you like him but that doesn't mean that he can use you, that means that you need to communicate with him about your feelings. And if he doesn't like you cut off whatever you guys have going on cause you gonna get hurt. Falling for someone is scarry. But it's better to loose then not participate at all." She tells me. "Your right." I say. "Your telling him tomorow." She says. "What since when?" I ask and she shrugs. "Since I said so." She says and I roll my eyes. 

"If you get kicked out you can always come live with me and Cameron." She says and I push her to the ground. "Not helping me with my nerves to tell our parents." I say and she laughes. "Wasn't supposed to." She says. "You are actually the worst of the family." I say. "You know you love me the most." She say while hugging me. "No I don't." I say as I roll my eyes.
