I aroused to the sound of a cool breeze gently blowing on my surroundings. I jerked upwards and squinted at the mysterious new location. It was an old, abandoned ruin surrounded with bushes and trees that were torn apart. I knew for sure that this definitely wasn't the past or the future, I was in another dimension. I examined the ruins and spotted a small trapdoor. Wow, I guess the trapdoor wasn't so secretive if it was in plain view, but what if it held the secret to going back home?

My current surroundings seemed very unlikely to hold any secrets towards getting to the same blackhole, however the trapdoor seemed very promising that it would hold many secrets to transporting myself back to my home. I had to reach the trapdoor, it was my only chance.

Without a hesitation, I began the race to the trapdoor. My legs were working hard, rapidly moving, one after the other. I was swamped in tall grasses, sticks and twigs covered entrances to the ruins, but I didn't care as long as I could find the trapdoor and go home. I dodged the obstacles in determination to reach my destination. Finally, I smiled in excitement. A skinny door carved into the ruins loomed in front of me! I was ready to explore the trapdoor.

All of a sudden, I felt a sharp jolt of aggonizing pain all over my body, just as I was reaching the trapdoor. I put my hand out and reached for the trapdoor's handle. I was hanging onto the door handle for dear life, trying to tolerate the pain. The last thing I remember was wailing out "Ouch! Get me out of here!" even though I knew I was the only one there. All of a sudden, I began to get dizzy and the door became a blurry shade of pale gray. My face went slack and my fingers were numb. I remember placing my hands on my cheeks and realizing that I could not feel a thing. Everything went black, but I was still half conscious. I could hear a faint "tap. tap. tap. tap." on the other side of the door. Voices were coming from the other room. "I heard she was coming, we have to find her" a man with a thick French accent spoke. "Yes. She's the one. Skyla lured her in and its up to us to reveal to her the truth: who she is."

The truth? Who I was? What were they talking about? Everything they said was so foreign, except for one thing: the name Skyla. It was like a distant memory trying to find its way out of its prison. Skyla....where had I heard that name? Skyla.

The last thing I thought before blacking out completely was "Skyla" and then I was gone. Who knew how long it would be before I woke up, I didn't even want to wake up. The name Skyla has triggered an old memory and I had a feeling it wasn't a good one.
